It’s been over a year in the making. I worked on this book every day, even if only for 10 minutes, spent more each weekend, and completed two rounds of revisions. Thanks to @madonawambua.bsky.social, @johnoreilly.dev, Sungyong An, and SeongUg Jung for the testimonials.

Always remember when @madonawambua.bsky.social did the opening keynote at droidcon New York and said "I'm a Google Developer Expert, but I don't feel like an expert" (apols if slightly misquoted). We never reach a point where we don't have so much to learn in front of us.

I'm still confused. Do you pay for an ambulance, or is it free? When I got my daughter, i used one because my water broke, haha, and I've never received a bill 🙃😅 so it's free.

I'll be in NY in two weeks! What's better than to speak at an Android Meetup while there? I'll try to introduce you to Kotlin Notebooks! See you!

A discussion about the differences of @github.com merge options came up at work this week. I couldn't find a quick explainer I liked so I wrote down what I shared. I hope it's helpful! blog.mmckenna.me/github-merge...

If you're running Macrobenchmark tests to compute interaction latencies, you should check whether the distribution of results is a normal distribution. If it's not normal, compare outlier traces with traces that are close to the median and you will find systemic perf issues! Thread 🧵 #AndroidDev

So, the latest Android Studio is so buggy that I can't load devices even after restarting my laptop. What's happening.

I'm looking to revive the Android meetup in NYC. Please dm if you're in NYC and want to collabo.

So this got me thinking: Does Owasp Top 10 apply to Mobile (Android) ? I know back in the days people could decompile the APK, but now I know it's hard with security and obfuscation - what do Android devs think?

I'm back from vacation, let's get back into tech topics! I saw Madona's skeet and noodled on it with a friend on the chairlift. The Fakes vs Mocks debate is a classic, visited many times with very strong opinions as well as "it depends" discourse. Let's talk about why we write tests #AndroidDev
