Americans don't have expectations. They don't feel like it's their problem. At all. It's just a big TV show until they're the ones affected. Even the people who pretend to empathize can't really do it. "I used to live in that town!", "Someone should hold them accountable!" Selfish to the end.

Our culture of individualism tells everyone to make up their own minds and form their own opinions, but 25%-40% don't have an internal monologue. 54% can't read above a 6th grade level. 21% don't know how to read at all. Yet we rely on them to make predictions about the future?
