News agencies suck. Graphs moving sideways shouldn't make the news at all. There's a strong chance of it going up of course, but it shouldn't be their job to manufacture panic.

Insulin was patented 100 years ago. Patents expire after 25 years. If private industry outright refuse to manufacture generic drugs at a reasonable cost, then the state of California should. Public needs are going completely unmet. This child will likely die without help.

It was about slavery yes, but at that time there was also some debate about whether all police would be federal, or state based. Without the second amendment we wouldn't have local cops. Cops are the "well regulated Militias".
