This has been on my mind so much lately, and I'm keeping such an eye out for indies/devs I respect (like you!) talking about it. I think trademark/copy right law would traditionally be the way to go, but legal resources are financially inaccessible/not-viable for so many small creators...

How do you feel about Godot? Think you'll move to it fully? I'm undergoing the same - just spent a few days replicating a Unity project in Godot, making a Blender pipeline to account for missing tools (terrain stuff, mostly), and wrapping my head around node structure. I'm hopeful but still shaky...

Yesterday’s layoffs at Bethesda Games Studios were not a cut of “14 layers of management”. We lost dozens of programmers, artists, designers and testers. Many of whom worked at BGS for decades.

If Bethesda fans are worried this will harm the quality of our future games, like TES VI, let Microsoft know!

100% agree. In a county to my south where large farms operate they, to my understanding, have rendered well water undrinkable due to over-fertilizing in sandy soil repeatedly; it's insane to me that that was allowed to happen But yeah, AI is all the more pathetic from it just being a cash grab

Thing is it's been coming for the past 15 yrs, esp the past 5. The US has seen a ~4x increase in data centers, not considering the footprint growth of each either. Call out ag, for sure (I say as a farmer), but ag isn't putting PFA forever coolants into your water, and it does at least feed ppl

It died. After 4 years of oiling the failing fan bearings every year, the heater fan died :'( ... so I rigged a 10-yr-old PCU Coolermaster fan in it because 12v is 12v, and it's happy again!🎉 It's the principle of it. Gonna Ship of Theseus this $90 space heater and take it with me to the grave, ftw

#GameDev question.. Why don't we see more quality, non games-as-a-service games on mobile? Is it that the hardware is inherently limiting? Or is it because the established norm is to dump ads & IAP in there to keep generating revenue? I can't think of many titles that are purchase once on mobile.
