I saw that with the volunteer snow shoveling last winter. Sure they volunteered and that was great, but Mamdani got the city to pay them. Let them know they were worth it. Went out and shoveled too. He made a good act into a rewarded, great act.

Often, as is the case with owls and raptors in my local sanctuaries, the birds are wounded and need rehabilitation before they can go back into the wild. Some birds never get well enough to survive back in the wild, and they help the sanctuaries teach about wildlife conservation.
