I don't think it'll last: with more & more players trained as long throwers, they can simply hurl the ball back down the touchline towards halfway. Kayode at Brentford is already using his long throw to relieve attacking pressure.

Since The Observer was split off from The Guardian, a reader might be forgiving for thinking that football on Saturday had been abolished, as you get bugger all match reports now. Football must still exist, as there are player profiles and think pieces, but all matches must happen midweek, I guess.

And as Jordan pointed out, the actual wording of what the rainbow laces campaign asks players to sign up to is incredibly tame - so if you can't even agree to THAT, it's pretty tricky to find explanations beyond bigotry.

I agree too. I think at a bare minimum we should expect Barry to be allowed to make the case against the laces-refusers, but Troy shut that right down, and then he was never allowed to come back to his point.

The Bagthorpe Saga by Helen Cresswell - Grandma & Daisy are the greatest characters in kids lit. The Burning Lands series by John Christopher - post-apocalyptic fiction with a big reveal about the narrator's character. Terry On The Fence by Bernard Ashley - the scary big kids Had Their Reasons.
