The charges are based on the old UEFA charge of fiddling the sponsorship of which they were found guilty but managed to get the fine reduced and expulsion dropped on appeal now City are trying to get them quashed because of the process of the case and the fairness of the panel.

I knew that story, but I was worried that the few appearances he had, especially at home were poor and I feared it was a lot of money wasted, he showed some positive signs pre-season but still not convinced, MOM against Wolves and his cameo on Sat were very impressive and let's hope he kicks on.

Strange game today, the midfield 3 all played poorly, soft goal won it, dubious VAR offside should have stood, Ipswich despite having a lot of the ball couldn't finish and a silly second yellow probably cost them a chance of beating us. But it's all about the 3 points and we move on.

I remember it well, the tears of some Everton fans were relieved that we had won a trophy after 14 barren years, it seemed ages then. I think there will be more than tears if we win another trophy again, 31 years and counting!!!
