Sold off my vinyl decades ago after the CD revolution, so I haven’t owned a turntable in years. Last week an old pal gave me this Tragically Hip album, so I had to fix that. Picked up an Audio-Technica Sound Burger, paired it with Bluetooth speakers, and damn, it sounds good to these old ears! 🎶

My smart telescope has a cool feature that prevents condensation from building up. Especially handy when I leave it out in the backyard overnight. Here it is next to the power bank I use to keep it running all night. I’m still learning, so hopefully the shots will only get better with time.

I remember getting my first scientific calculator in Grade 10. They were forbidden before that, and I thought it was amazing. Today my Casio FX 9750GIII does graphs, spreadsheets, programming, statistics, equations, matrices, geometry...and plays Tetris. Grade 10 me would lose his mind.

I love watch spotting in movies and TV. Masters of the Air gave me a close-up of Austin Butler’s watch, so I paused and looked it up. Turns out it’s an Elgin from the early 1940s. Now I’m on eBay hovering over “Buy It Now.” This would be my most vintage watch yet.

I first spotted Erik the Red about a month ago. I’m 100% a cat person, so of course I had to walk over and see if he was a real cat. I had no idea about his story until I saw this post from the Nova Scotia Museum of the Atlantic. What a lovely tribute.

#Casio says it has produced more than 4,200 distinct #GShock models since 1983. I currently own seven. I like them enough that I bought a case just for them. The case holds 12, which conveniently sets my limit. When I hit 12, I’ll stop. Sure I will.

You win some. You lose some. Our campsite had a canopy of trees, which I normally love for the shade. Not so great for astrophotography. The better of the two shots is C 33, part of the much larger Veil Nebula. The other is NGC 7741, a galaxy in Pegasus.

My Timex Q would never be mistaken for a Rolex Daytona, which is good because I’ll never own one. 😂 But side by side, you can definitely see the inspiration. Cream dial, black subdials, tachymeter bezel, brown leather strap. It's one of my favorites.

Mondays can be rough. Today's watch selection is the simplest, lightest, smallest Casio that I own. The Casio MQ-24. Zero complications. Three hands, quartz movement, white dial, black resin, and only about 20 grams. You literally can't feel it on your arm. Can be gotten for around $20 on sale.
