then all the crybabies in #Spain and #Belgium should maybe question their unconditional support for a terrorist organisation, because the #majority of the #Europeans stand behind #Israels right of #self-defense.

They are not here to support or demonise a state, they might have just enjoyed the music, and this is what the #ESC is about; music, artists expressing themselves and representing their countries. And in case that many people voted for #Israel because they wanted to show their support,

#Austria's #JJ, who won the contest - congratulations to #Austria and #JJ on this part - would have a higher jury voting, than the popular vote. Guess what? Both things are fine! People watching the #ESC are not professionals.

Another article regarding the #ESC: www.deutschlandfunk.de/sender-besch... This time the author speaks of a "noticeable discrepancy between the public vote and the expert jury" when it comes down to #Israel, while #Austria is mentioned just on a side note:

my stance would be the same, as with #Orban #crying about the #EU: Don't like it? Leave it. It's not like we would miss anything out with #Belgium and #Spain not participating in the #ESC - or #Hungary becoming the next Russian Republic by its own.

would take a second to reflect on their position, and why it is important for THEM, that Israel is demonised beyond reason. To me this seems like underlying #antisemitism, but I'm of course just a random person on the internet, what do I know. If I would have a say in this,

This is like comparing apples with pears. As for the voting: I think it speaks for itself, if the majority of #Europeans stand with #Israel on its war against terrorism and do condemn the #October7th #Hamas attack. Instead of suspecting #fraud, it would be better if the respective #Israel haters

It also demonises Israel unjustifiable, equating it to the Apartheim regime in South Africa or in more extreme cases even to Nazi-Germany. This belittles the state practices and crimes undertaken by these regimes. Israel does not have racially segregated toilets or busses and no concentration camps.

Furthermore, the language used enables antisemitism, since - and this has been shown over and over again - the so called "anti-israeli" protests target Jewish students and Jewish teachers at universities worldwide alike, regardless of their views on Israel or their actual citizenship.

Further more: this is ahistoric and anti-scientific, since the person who put up that posting already violated the most important rule in research, which being open for any results. It also frames palestianan history as a history of victimhood, which has been disproven by scholars around the world.

No, Hochul is absolutely right! Language in a job post, that already is frames Israel in a complete and utter contrafactual way, as an 'Apartheit state' or the war against Hamas as 'genocide' is not academic freedom - it is Hamas propaganda.

The world needs to wake up and take the Palestinians into responsibility for their actions and for peace in the middle east instead permanently pointing the finger on Israel. If the Palestinians would not continually pose a threat, people like Netanyahu would have never been elected.

***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
This is why on Oct. 7th not only Hamas fighters did go to kill innocent people, but civilians, people who even had their workplaces in Israel, people that were recognised as civilians. Oct. 7th basically proved, how twisted the palestinian society is.

***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
And this perpetuation of practices like Palestinians inheriting their refugee status, framing them as victims of Israel policies , paird with an psychotic obsession of countless UN members with Israel, condemning it more often than North Korea, for example, is what defines the Palestinian society.

They are held hostage, by the people ruling over them, be it PLO, be it Hamas, be it Islamic Jihad and they are fed the same lies and the same hate every day. This is encouraged by countless European states and UN-personell, either by ignorance or because of some anti-israeli sentiments.

***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
There is no progress on the palestinian side. You know, sure, Netanyahu, who is essentially the Israeli version of Trump, will also need to leave office to make way for real peace, but the good thing is, the Israelis will hold elections and he might just not win. The Palestinians cannot do that.

And here is another thing: Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah is in office almost as long as Russias Putin, put in place by Arafat and he will put another spiritual successor to these ideas on the throne, once time comes.
110
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
And Hamas and PLO are making sure to remind their people about this, not only by indoctrinating them, but also by enacting policies, that might punish any cooperation.
110
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
And islamism on the other hand, which claims the same under a religious label. This is why there is no effort on the palestinian side for any true and lasting peace. In this system, Israel is simply not allowed to exist.
110
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
The Palestinians today, are so just pawns of the secular pan-arabic nationalism, which is based on the believe, that the entire land belongs to Arab people, since they conquered and ruled over it something over 1000 years ago.
110
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
Definitely! What I'm just trying to say is: removing Hamas, defunding UNRWA is all good, but it won't change much. The palestinian identity, in today's sense, is based solely on Jordan and Egypt losing the 6-day-war and having to officially abandon their claims on Gaza, Westbank and Jerusalem.
110
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
But: more than Israel, the Palestinians need to re-invent themselves; from a violent society of hate to peaceful people, who seek true partnership and coexistence. This is not going to happen, if certain elements within the #UN keep jeopardising it and #Hamas and #PLO keep holding its people hostage
000
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
If you want peace, this must stop. Israel is a democracy, a legitimate, sovereign and postkolonial state, that fought multiple defensive wars, which resulted in its policies today. They might not be perfect, and things need to change in Israel as well for an everlasting peace.
010
***** @m3djed.bsky.social · 28/02/2025
Same as the German society supported the Holocaust or the Turkish the genocide of Armenians, so does a vast majority of the palestinan society support genocidal acts of violence against Israelis and Jews worldwide. Hate is taught in #UNRWA schools, enabled by antisemites like Francesca #Albanese.

We saw the this in Italy, where Meloni's neo-fascist ruling party cut state welfare for their own benefits. Now we will see this in the U.S. Again: These people are not conservative; these people are not pro-their-country, their people; they are only pro-power for themselves.

Without popular support, there is not much that these nations can do, except on paper. How this turns out in reality, we all know from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

It is it's own ideology, that the Arab nations need to overcome first on their way of reformation towards democracy, secularism and modernity, before they will have the popular support to oust #Hamas and #PLO terrorists.
