Important climate science news. After a hard week of work at Palmer Station Antarctica we would go out in a zodiac to collect ice. "Bar Ice" is clear, and contains ancient CO2. It was important because it was fun. Nothing more fun than ancient CO2 bubbling out of your scotch on the rocks.

Very interesting work. When I was at Palmer Station Antarctica we would often head out in a zodiac to search for "bar ice" floating in the ocean. Bar ice is clear. It is old ice full of CO2. Its importance was very simple. It was fun. We used it for fizzy drinks at the bar after work.

Generation X was a book. All the characters left their corporate high paying jobs. Got piercings and tattoos and other AVDs(AntiVictim Devices)and moved from LA to Palm Springs and got "McJobs" at KFC. That book started the lettering of generations. Imagine reviving that for billionaire companies.

Rabies as a metaphor. Kinda a sign of the times where people lash out at other people due to bottled up anger that has nothing to do with the person that they attack. It is understandable. People are frustrated and for good reason. Hope that helps

One has to wonder why exactly people were killed. Lots of evidence in typical body cam video releases. No cops that I know want to kill people but it seems lots of ambush killings of cops. Regardless criminals are often violent and deadly force occurs. And it all sucks.

Simply watch any police chase videos from the ASP (Arkansas State Police). Those bringing weed into Arkansas from OK are armed to the teeth. Yeah and it is just weed. Here in Arizona that went away when we voted to make weed legal which is what Arkansas and many other states need to do.

I like how Lewis Thomas took that to an analogy of a living cell. The atmosphere being the cell membrane. " The Lives of a Cell" is a wonderful book. Also "From Eros to Gaia" by Freeman Dyson with some hope for extreme adaptation by humanity.

Ideally that would be great but here in Arizona we are very very far from that. Better to legalize recreational drugs so the violent gangs are without products. Here cannabis is legal but meth and fentanyl have become the problem. Guns and meth are the deadly combo for tragedy.

Violent criminals are heavily armed. Military weapons combined with meth. In states (Arkansas) where cannabis is still illegal weed gangs have heavy weaponry. Look how many LEO are killed each year. So it is sad but true. Reform has happened thanks to military vets becoming LEO but more is needed.

Well God you probably do not have violent criminals in Heaven. But where I live we respect and need our police. Predatory criminals abound down here and most LEO are good decent people protecting us. Had a guy shoot 9 people on Sunday (ya know since he could) and he was stopped by the police.

I worked with the Flagstaff Hotshots to help pay for college. One solution to wildfire impacts would be to put the fires out. Both Canada and the USA could do this if only we cared enough to be prepared to do so. We need a change in thinking in funding for our battle plans and firefighters.

So glad I sometimes had to live in my car to get a degree in Biochemistry. If you mess with your natural hormone levels you shift their balance. Then testosterone can be easily converted to estrogen by the enzyme aromatase to restore that balance.
