Had some fun with the Longwire and the 9:1 I think this could be fun on 80m in the evening/ mornings so will need to try that. The height and length of the antenna are hard to convey so here is a video. #hamr

You will love the 7 KW charger, and with the smaller battery 46 kWh the low price overnight electricity from 00:30 to 05:30 is all I need. 5 hrs = around 35kWh so around 75% recovery in one evening. As I charge to 80% its always enough!

I think its just a mindset, I did Scotland twice, Devon, Cornwall, Wales, Norfolk to name a few in the Ioniq 5. You just drive 150miles say 3 hrs, stop for a "p" and top up. The I5 was a monster with its 220 Kw 800v charging, 10 to 80 in 15 mins! Decoupled from fossil fuel in vehicles since 2021

Yes the Hyundai I5 was impressive, with around 220 miles range. The new car is also a Hyundai this time smaller Inster and more efficient. This gets around 220 miles with a smaller 46 kWh battery and still has V2L for field days. Personally hybrid is not for me, range anxiety is just a tabloid scare

While I agree, the issue with EFHW is they work less well the further you get towards the full wave. So a EFHW cut for 7 MHz works quite poorly on 21 and 28 MHz. Dipoles are great, but you need to get them up in the air and require support. Get yourself a tape measure and surprise yourself 🤣

On 14 MHz they are pull up and use, the whip is 5.6m and resonance is 14MHz. Other bands need a bit of care, some whips have the bands marked. It's a technical hobby, get technical 🤣

The 40m SSB one was fun, I was using the 1/4 wave vertical and 4 elevated radials over at the SNB site. The linear was on, and I was calling CQ early morning. A real thrill to chat on 7 MHz
