California Dept of Education to Trump: how about you go fuck yourself? This is the way. Do not comply.
BREAKING NEWS
The California Department of Education Responds to President Trump’s Executive Order on What Can Be Taught in Schools “President Trump signed an executive order today that does nothing but require the Secretary of Education to determine what federal education funds can legally be rescinded as a penalty for teaching curricula that President Trump finds objectionable, We can give the Trump Administration that answer right now: nothing. It is against federal law for the White House to dictate what educators can and cannot teach by threatening to defund essential public services for students School curriculum should not vacillate back and forth depending on the occupant of the White House, which is why federal law already prohibits the federal government from leveraging grants to mandate specific instructional content in schools.”

Ok nm I'm back because what the everlasting eff is this candycane thing in the corner? I didn't link to the ad as I don't want to give views, I'm sure it'll be pushed all over, I watched a bit to see that they used the ai in the commercial (which they did). Are the cars real? Why care?
Screenshot of a Youtube thumbnail. The video is an ad from Honda for their "Happy Honda Days" promotion, specifically for their Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline cars. The thumbnail shows a Honda Pilot on a grey snow covered road, driving through an ai generated image of misshapen evergreen trees, blobs that might be pastel colored sugared almonds, and half melted candy canes. The candy cane on the lower left has bent over and appears to be melted into itself, looking more like a knot of candy. If you click on the video you see candy-esque blobs forming and reforming in the background.

One more blurb from the Southern California Country book for its timeliness. I won't be able to finish by the time it need to go back, but flipping through it shows it's the same tone. If you need ideas for stories they're there~
Excerpt from the book "Southern California Country" by Carey McWilliams. Text reads: "Ostensibly a gay affair, the annual ride represents a rather grim and desperate effort to escape from the bonds of a culture that neither satisfies nor pleases. Actually there is something rather pathetic about the spectacle of these frustrated business men cantering forth in search of ersatz week-end romance, evoking a past that never existed to cast some glamour on an equally unreal today."
