Nick Hull @lytchettbirder.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Not big numbers last night but Mecyna asinalis (Madder Pearl) was new for the garden. A nice Gold Spot and Barred Sallow were NFY. Large Wainscot, Brindled Green and the only migrant a White-point were the only other species of interest. @dorsetmoths.bsky.social 0111

Nick Hull @lytchettbirder.bsky.social · 11/09/2026It can be good zitting cisticola, Black-winged Stilt breed. Good for harrier’s & wildfowl. They have stopped the walking of the sea wall but provided hides. I believe it was to stop disturbance of the Harbour Seal colony. 000
Nick Hull @lytchettbirder.bsky.social · 10/09/2026That’s a great site Jackie and I have had some superb birding there. The bay can attract good numbers of Skua’s when the terns are moving. Also waders particularly when the bore is happening. Have you visited The reserve at Beauguillot on the otherside of the bay? 100

Nick Hull @lytchettbirder.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Not rabbit but when on the farm they would panic ducklings and chicken chicks, when they put their heads through the pen wire the hedgehog would grab them and eat what it could get too. Took ages before we found the culprit. Also seen them eating dead pheasant. Pos due to dry weather lack food? 120

It turned out to be a frog half swallowed by a grass snake, which is a first for the garden, unfortunately for the snake but lucky for the frog as both bolted in opposite directions. 081
