So long as you keep it that way!

This is one I'd really love to get to the table.

It definitely exists in Wisconsin but you'd have to let the lawn get past 8". You'd get a notice that you need to cut it by a certain date and if you don't, the city sends a crew to do it and charges you for it.

Mine died in 2020 when we couldn't meet for the annual in person draft. I miss the weekend event; I do not miss fantasy football.

Benson's numbers don't look as good as what I'd expect given the environment either.

Yeah, I see people talking about their EDC in the fountain pen community all the time.

I did one blind playthrough of the game (several versions ago) and ran into this at the end after doing absolutely no violence the whole campaign. It really soured me on it such that I haven't gone back even years later after playing EU4 and Imperator extensively.

I just wish as an internet person I was in a better position to offer assistance, but the best I can do is to hope things get better for you.

I love ritual magic like this.

I love science fantasy that shades more toward the fantasy end. The vibe of lots of weird shit lying around an otherwise ancient world works for me.

What definition of the republic lasts longer than the empire? At the most generously short version of the empire—27 BCE - 476 CE—that's 502 years which is longer than 509 BCE - 27 BCE by two decades.

This is the skeleton key to every mid PBTA game and session - people look at the moves and think they’re equivalent to, like, initiative mechanics or something. Like an optional add-on for flavor. No, man, they’re the *whole deal.* Ignore them and everything falls alll the way apart

There aren't many OSR publications that give you more bang for your buck than KNOCK!

I've had fun barhopping in Austin, but I can't say this is entirely wrong. On the other hand, I was only there for a week.

Game genres are only really useful in an academic and retail setting. Otherwise they are invisible walls and tribes that become barriers for people to experience the full breath of what these types of games offer. Pbta and OSR are more alike than you think.

Did you do all the terrain by hand or generate it procedurally somehow?

My wife and I thought about getting married on the 21st but ultimately that scheduling didn't work.

I've been doing actual game design so here's some theoryslop to try and explain the basics of ttrpg play cultures to my girlfriend to balance it out

A venn diagram with Play to Find Out, Strict Player/GM divide, and OOC player control over the story

OSR is play to find out and strict player/GM divide

Neotrad is strict player/GM divide and OOC player control over the story

Pbta design legacy is OOC player control over the story and play to find out

He didn't crack 47% in 2016 or 2020, so I'm skeptical of that number. He'd still get more votes than he would in any sane electorate.

I'm not happy being one of the backers on the hook for this!

Wow, I backed that one. This sucks ass; I'd rather they just admit failure.

I made that same mistake in my college years.

I think campaigns are more fun and meaningful when they take place over a significant stretch of time, as well. My longest running Burning Wheel campaign took place over a decade+ and that added a lot to it!
