Well boo. I was thinking I might try my little CYA stories over here on bluesky but a critical component is missing... There's no ability to set up polls here. 😑 Dammit.

Love when talking with folks about crafting things (in this case-a garland for a 6' tree) and they're like "Oh that'll just take a couple of hours, right?" 75 to 80 feet of string takes more than "a couple of hours" to bead, my friends... 🤣 especially when there's a pattern to how they're strung.

It's one of those days. What kind, you (didn't) ask? The kind where my cat follows me from room to room like "OMG pick a task/place and sit still so I can sit still too!" while meowing at me and patting spots she'd like me to sit in so she can sit along with. #Cat #Catthings

Art time! I'm extremely an amateur painter, but there's only one way to get better: Keep doing it. I wanted to do the Celtic tree of life but my hands were not up to the knotwork so, a simple version resulted. #painting #mixedmedia #acrylicpaint #canvaspainting #art

Simplistic take on the celtic tree of life on a green background , no knotwork.

Second blanket is done! Though it became more of a wrap. And it has been thoroughly tested and approved by my Q&A department, who assures me of its perfection in her eyes. #yarncraft #yarnart #hexagon #cat #handmade #blanket

Silver-blue and black yarn hexagons sewn together in a long, narrow wrap with a grey calico cat nearby.

Me whenever I have to communicate with other human beings #anxiety

A humidifier on the sink in front of a bathroom mirror. The combination of small "on" and "full" lights above a wide curved vent make a pleasant smiling face and on the back of the humidifier, which can be seen in the mirror, another wide curved air vent and the two screws holding it together above it make a horrified face.

Shopping with my brain. Pencil and paper, then took a pic with my phone. Just a random silly that occurred to me for putting some things in perspective; may do others, may not.

Two 'people' (sides of the brain) talking about using a magnifying glass instead of glasses to read nutrition panels, employee sneaks up on them, one freaks out.

at work someone thought the soup borscht was called bork. i was so confused at first and then he started describing it and I realized and said, "do you mean borscht?" and he was like, "yeah that beet soup!" and i lost my mind. he was so innocent and so sure of himself🤣 he never heard it said

necklace I made for my sister (she provided the materials). My first time working with chain for anything but a repair and lemme tell ya- not doing this again until I get a proper magnifying glass set up. I literally did the alterations to the chain by feel since my eyes couldn't focus on the links.

(1) May as well make it official. I'm taking a break from writing prose for the rest of Oct, Nov and Dec- holidays are always stressful times and I've NEVER been happy with any chapter I've written during them. I'll finish the current chapter, which has been a struggle, and the next will be in Jan.

Today's lesson in clay work: it's very hard to make female anatomy look right and not over exaggerated. Poor Melphina was definitely not that 'blessed' by nature but lordy is it hard getting things to the right proportions while still looking right. Figuring the tail out is going to be fun.

So the next chapter is being delayed as I'm sure has become evident, but I promise it's for a good reason. (versus the last ones being delayed by less desirable things.) Fallen Star will continue - just after I get done making a few more long overdue gifts for some friends.
