There's so many snes rpgs that didn't make it to EU back in the day (FF4/5/6, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, Earthbound, Breath of Fire 1/2, L1, 7th Saga & also stuff like Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, LiveALive, DQ5/6 that didn't make it to the US either. No wonder I latched onto the few we got!

(I only noticed now that I mixed 1 and 2 up up there myself. But yeah, 2 was my childhood. <3)

Lufia 1 skipped us, but yeah. If we're trading, Terranigma <-> Soul Blazer works even better, since each region got only two of the tree games in that "series." (both EU and NA got Illusion of Gaia/Time)

I'm exited for more people to play these, and for Lufia 2 to be released in Europe for the first time! (I literally finished a L2 replay last week, and played L1 for the first time earlier this year, so I probably won't pick them up myself, but I love that these ports will exist.)

I'm having a good time with the ff7 remake series and I'm sure I'll enjoy the crossover raid in ffxiv but man, I wish they didn't make *both* raid series for the next few years full crossovers (which feel different from even very direct references like Crystal Tower or Eden). More Fourth please!

Will this be the playthrough where I finally do some of those late-game optional "quests" like the cavern if stolen fayth or the dark aeons or the stuff with Anima? Seems unlikely, but you never know! In any case, it's good to be in Spira again. It's such a wonderful story.

I have my issues with the EN translation by itself (I don't envy the translators having to lip-sync the dialogue. The subs obviously don't have that problem to the same degree & have more room for nuance, for implying things, etc.) but it has some beautiful phrases too that I wouldn't want to miss.

1) beautifully expressive facial expressions (and faces in general; the HD release fucked both of these up) 2) two independent(!) translations at once (EN audio, GER text) that both bring their own nuances to the text and complement each other beautifully.

Last time I played it was 7-8 years ago, fully in English on the HD version and that was a mistake; now I'm back to the version I first played all those years ago - the German PS2 release. Two upsides:
