Honestly for me, I've made friends with people of various ages, so it's not so much about being siloed into a specific age group and more like a free agent drifting around since I wasn't there when the cliques formed.

After cons, sometimes I feel a bit haunted by the over a decade I spent watching the fandom from afar but refusing to interact with anyone out of fear and anxiety. I'm thankful that I finally overcame that fear, but, man, do I wish I was braver and came out of my shell sooner.
