I think back to the Civil Rights Era and the young folks who came to support and take their lead from the Black organizers on the ground, like during Freedom Summer and the Freedom Riders. If they come correct, I welcome the energy and support. If they want to tell us what to do, stay home.

I didn't work during the early years when I was raising my kids, but once my third kid was 1.5 years old I started looking for part time work and side hustles. I started doing a lot of activism and volunteer work too. I am happier having ways to contribute back to society and be around other people.

Exactly! There are always some who choose to align with the same ppl who would just as soon see you dead, out of some desire for a false sense of security, I don't know. We (Black people) had them in slavery times, they walk amongst us today (I e., Clarence Thomas, Candace Owens). Mind-boggling.

Yeah, Jews became white for a lot of American culture pretty recently, and that status is always revocable. To many/most white supremacists, Jews are not white even if most of the culture perceives them as white. I say most because Stephen Miller.

Yes, I was just listening to a talk with Mariame Kaba and Jeanne Theoharis earlier this week, and Prof. Theoharis emphasized the role of Black newspapers in covering the movement and violence against Black communities, issues that were often ignored or rationalized in mainstream media.

It's so interesting to me because I always learned free range chickens can access the widest diet and have the darkest yolks and that was true for my birds when I was raising chickens. But these chickens in Abuja were the most free ranging I have ever seen lol and they did not prove that point.

The eggs in Nigeria had very pale yolks! I think it's just a difference in the kind of chicken, or maybe their diet? But I have no idea. My friend who is from there said that's just what eggs look like there. Their chickens are really small and just roam around everywhere.
