A fuckup so dumb even NYT homepage/headline writers have no choice but to describe it accurately
As Jack Smith Testifies, a Senator’s Accusation of Perjury Falters

A Republican eager to prove the former special counsel was dishonest appeared to instead demonstrate his own confusion over basic facts.

To review: South Carolina lawmakers *hid* a meeting to *change* the rules of debate to *rush* redistricting to *rig* an election map for partisan gain. This is dishonest, cowardly, anti-democratic behavior, and it is worth calling out at every stop along the way.

BIG NEWS! Yesterday, Governor Brian Kemp signed SB 195 into law, legislation that will expand access to critical HIV prevention medications by allowing pharmacists to dispense PrEP and PEP directly to patients. This is a win is years in the making! Please read our full statement:
A graphic with a photo of HIV advocates gathered in front of the Georgia State Capitol building and the Georgia Equality logo with the red HIV ribbon at the top. Beneath is a red text box which reads in bold text, "LEGISLATIVE VICTORY!" Beneath is body text which reads, "Yesterday, Governor Brian Kemp signed SB 195 into law!

This legislation will help expand access to critical HIV prevention medications by allowing pharmacists to dispense PrEP (preexposure prophylaxis) and PEP (postexposure prophylaxis) directly to patients– helping to eliminate barriers to accessing HIV prevention."A plan graphic with a red background and white text. The text reads, ""Having SB 195 signed into law in Georgia is a major win years in the making. Georgia currently has the highest rate of new HIV diagnoses in the country, meaning we play an instrumental part in curbing the HIV epidemic. SB 195 is a vital first step in this process by expanding access to HIV prevention for many who may not be able to access it otherwise, particularly for marginalized individuals and those living in rural areas facing systemic barriers to care.

"Georgia Equality is grateful to Senator Chuck Hufstetler for sponsoring SB 195, to co-sponsors Senators Kay Kirkpatrick, Elena Parent, and Nan Orrock, and to those officials who championed SB 195 in the State House, including Representatives Mark Newton and Sharon Cooper. We would also like to thank the Georgia Pharmacy Association and the Georgia AIDS Coalition for their leadership in passing SB 195."

At the bottom is the Georgia Equality logo with the red HIV ribbon.A plan graphic with a red background and white text. The text reads, ""We are especially proud to note that SB 195 passed the Senate unanimously, demonstrating impressive, bipartisan support for HIV prevention. This is no small feat and would not be possible without the voices of advocates and experts, especially those living with HIV who shared their stories with lawmakers. We hope that SB 195’s passage this year will renew hope for many, demonstrating that not only can we stop discriminatory bills, but we can also pass proactive legislation to help improve the lives of more Georgians."

The quote is attributed to Jeff Graham, executive director of Georgia Equality. At the bottom is the Georgia Equality logo with the red HIV ribbon and a photo of Jeff Graham speaking at a World AIDS Day event.

Genuinely relieved that Botman is no longer gonna be president of Brad Coolidge. I dunno if my letters swayed anyone, but when I sent the one to his chief of staff, the reply was: “forwarding now to the Board…” It’s almost as if the Title IX officer should *not* be the school’s president.

SB74 vote is approved w a tiebreaker from the chair. Homosexuality is still included as a definition reference for harmful material. Congrats GA on adding libraries to criminal code in our race to the floor of literacy: we’re currently behind Alabama in literacy rates. Alabama.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT: SB 74 relies on an archaic legal definition of “sexual conduct,” which includes “homosexuality” among its list of sexually explicit topics. This is vague enough that it could be applied to any LGBTQ-related content. We are hoping to get this language amended in committee today.

Buried in a Senate budget bill is a massive giveaway to corporate developers and fossil fuel companies. It forces the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land in 11 Western states *every 60 days* until millions of acres are gone.
