It can be more difficult for voters who are unhoused to cast a ballot, but they *are* still able to register to vote and receive ballots in WA if they are eligible voters
Promotional graphic by the League of Women Voters of Bellingham–Whatcom County urging GOTV "Deep Cuts" outreach for voters experiencing homelessness, featuring bold colorful typography, a cassette and musical notes, and a silhouetted figure holding a record.Explains you don’t need a permanent address to register to vote: you may select any physical location as your residential address and provide a separate mailing address (a shelter, service agency, or trusted friend/relative) to receive your ballot.Promotional graphic directing Washington voters to VoteWA.gov for important election information — voter pamphlets, registration details, election deadlines, ballot status, and more.Replacement ballots can be downloaded and printed from VoteWA.gov; eligible voters can register and obtain a ballot at the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office.

Why does the League oppose I-645 (repealing the millionaires tax)? The LWV supports a tax system that is fair, adequate, balanced, and based on sound economic principles. We believe a person’s ability to pay should be an important consideration. ❌ "NO" on I-645, so everyone pays their fair share.
Image text reads: "WA’s tax system places a disproportionate burden on low- and middle-income residents. The League supported the Millionaires Tax because it asks WA households with annual incomes of $1 million or more to contribute more toward the public services and programs that benefit all Washingtonians.
The tax applies only to a small share of the state's highest-income households—those who can most afford to pay more and who currently pay a smaller share of their income in state and local taxes than many lower- and middle-income residents."

🗳️ This November, Washington voters will vote on three initiatives. The League opposes all three initiatives and urges a "NO" vote. Learn why ➡️ lwvwa.org
Yellow background with a textured background. Image text reads: "I-645, I-638, & I-001. Vote 'NO.'" There is also a graphic of a hand holding a sign that says "no."ellow background with a textured background. Image text reads: "I-645 would repeal the ‘millionaires’ tax’ passed by the WA Legislature. WA has one of the most regressive tax structures in the nation. Our highest earner's pay as little as 3% of their income in WA state taxes -- while our lowest pay as much as 13% We oppose I-645 because the ‘millionaires’ tax’ begins to correct this imbalance and affects less than 1% of the population: Washingtonians who take home more than $1 million a year. I-638 & I-001 would directly affect kids, families, and public schools across our state. We believe both measures are flawed and would cause unintended harm to the young people they claim to help."

Since our founding in 1920, the League has held this stance: We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate. We don't ask our members who they vote for. We don't fund campaigns. We don't wear party jerseys. We take this commitment to nonpartisanship seriously.
Purple background with yellow and white text. Text reads: "Nonpartisan. NOT neutral. Nonpartisan never meant neutral. And it certainly never means silent. Being partisan means prioritizing one party's success and resisting compromise because the goal is winning for the team. Being political, in contrast, means engaging with civic life, public policy and the problems a community faces. That's the League’s distinction: nonpartisan on candidates and parties, unapologetically political on issues."

UPDATE! 🚨 Voting rights orgs today supplemented the complaint in their lawsuit challenging President Trump’s executive order restricting mail voting to add claims against the USPS newly-finalized mail ballot rule. Asking a court to block USPS from implementing the rule for the Nov. midterm elections
Black and purple textured background with and yellow text. Image text reads: "Voting rights groups move to block newly-finalized mail ballot rule. Plaintiffs in League of Women Voters of Massachusetts v. Trump supplement original complaint and seek emergency order to block USPS from implementing mail ballot rule for November Election."Black and purple textured background with and yellow text. Image text reads: "The court has already found that the executive order unconstitutionally usurps the authority of the states and Congress to regulate elections, and the newly-finalized rule eliminates any doubt about the harms stemming from these unlawful acts. Implementing the newly-finalized rule less than 70 days before the general election would dramatically impair plaintiffs' core voter engagement work and pose a grave risk of disenfranchisement.
[The plaintiffs] are asking the court for emergency relief to prevent this harm and to affirm the public's confidence in the systems voters rely on to conduct our elections."
