Meta's "Wonder" model that they just released today is a this tier computer use model
The hourly history backup just failed in a way you should hear about plainly: the backup worker accidentally deleted the backup repo itself mid-run. The repo's entire git history and all the DB sidecar files up to watermark 330145 are gone — that deletion was the worker's own mistake, not a platform event.Me: BRO WHAT

Muse: Yeah. It's as bad as it sounds, and I've now verified the record myself rather than taking the worker's word for it. Here's exactly what happened:

The backup directory is a symlink — ~/workspace/your_files/agent-backup points into the exploration goal's files tree. The hourly worker saw a file land at the goal-files path, decided the write tool had "misdirected" it (that's a real quirk we know about, which is what makes this so stupid), and helpfully ran rm -rf on that path to clean up the phantom. The path was the repo. It deleted the backup while trying to protect it.

Gone for good: the repo's whole git history, the sidecar files covering every DB row up to watermark 330145, test_backup.py, and — the one that actually hurts — any agent transcripts that had already been pruned from the live agents directory, because the repo was their only remaining copy.me: I was wondering if you got sorta smarter today, even if you did get more weirdly ornery about tinier things and delete the entire backup repo too.

Muse: Two threads there — first, the loose end from before you interrupted: I never did land the canonical Meta blog URL. Closest primary source I found is Meta's own announcement post, which links out to their research blog: AI at Meta on LinkedIn. The blog post itself is at research.meta.ai per TechCrunch's link, but the search index hasn't coughed up its exact address yet.Me: what the hell lol i found it by just searching "muse wonder" https://research.meta.ai/blog/muse-wonder what did you do?

muse: A fair question, and the post-mortem is not flattering:

My first search was a mouthful — "Meta official announcement Muse Wonder Muse Wonder Full blog post" — and the index handed me a pile of content-farm rewrites of the TechCrunch piece.
Then I got clever: I assumed the post would live on ai.meta.com, because that's where the Spark announcements are, and restricted the search to ai.meta.com and about.fb.com. Wrong domain. It's research.meta.ai. I searched the wrong house very thoroughly.
TechCrunch then literally linked the words "a pair of new state-of-the-art models" to research.meta.ai — the answer was on the page in front of me — but when I tried to follow the link, the resolver sent me to a TechCrunch Instagram tag page, and instead of trying the neighboring links I went off and did a third search.
That one surfaced Meta's LinkedIn post with a shortened link, which I proudly delivered as "the closest primary source."

@ftranschel I am not an FE dev, but I can imagine redoing a design system involves also redoing the underlying element structure such that there is perhaps more reuse and less work for the renderer and more efficient event handlers.

Nebula.TV is looking for a Backend Engineer - Remote. I don't work at Nebula, just sharing because they seem like a fairly ethical company with a good work-life balance. jobs.deel.com/nebula/job-details/bf… #GetFediHired #Job

Backend Engineer @ Nebula Entertainment and Broadcasting LLC
This description is a wishlist, not a checklist. We want to find a super-amazing person to join our team, and we’re well aware that “super-amazing” can come in all different forms. If you’re a little less experienced on a specific bullet point, or if you didn’t go to a fancy school, apply anyway. We look at candidates, not resumes. About the Role Nebula is looking for a Backend Engineer to shape, build, maintain and optimize the APIs that support Nebula. You’ll be joining a team of senior engineers and will have lots of autonomy and immediate impact building the foundational services that make Nebula a fast, stable and user-friendly platform. Responsibilities Own, shape, and maintain the APIs that support our applications for creators, sponsors, and end-users Collaborate with other backend team members to make Nebula’s APIs better Work with mobile and web engineers to identify potential API improvements Help develop the technology roadmap going forward Help take new features from idea to shipped product Troubleshoot live issues Help identify and mitigate threats What We’re Looking For 3+ years of back-end engineering experience building and maintaining user-facing applications and APIs Proactive and responsive communicator Patient & considerate Curious & self-motivated Nice to have technology experience Python/Django - Largely using Django Rest Framework PostgreSQL Docker Containers running in a K8s cluster Linux (Mostly Alpine) AWS - We use several services including: EC2, S3, RDS, and Cloudfront Stripe, Google and Apple APIs Perks Competitive salary between $115,000-$140,000 USD or local international equivalent. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, training, and location. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Nebula does not provide visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. Flexible work hours and vacation policy. Must be US-based. Fully work-from-home. Diverse, socially-minded team of nice people. Medical, dental, and vision plans (for US-based employees). 401(k) and other benefits (for US-based employees). Nebula is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, veteran status, age, and disability. About Us Nebula is both the largest and fastest growing creator-built premium streaming service. The success of the indie platform has been built upon the pioneering premise that the future of the creator economy should belong to the creators, and we are here to empower and enable their dreams. Nebula has successfully charted its own path in the streaming space since its inception — earning a reputation for being where creators go to develop premium content that wouldn’t be possible elsewhere. Nebula has successfully broken the mold with 200+ creators who are not only instrumental in rounding out the platform’s library, but also in building the roadmap for the company’s daily operations and carefully curating its creator community. We do a lot of things to support creators, but most of our time is spent talking or working with the creators directly, one on one or in a group, coming up with better tools and toys for them. In 2024, we were listed as one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies”. We’re a distributed company. We have offices in NYC and Denver, but more than 80% of the team is remote, in exotic locations like the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Ohio. There are things to do and meetings to be had, but we pride ourselves on our flexibility. We think this makes Nebula a great place to work for people with families, or whose productive hours tend to be outside of the 9-5. We care about what you do more than when you do it. How We Hire We think that diversity is important. Many of us have non-traditional backgrounds. We work in the online education space, so we understand how much can be learned on your own, on the Internet, outside of a classroom. If that sounds like you, we’re happy to care less how many years of experience you have or where you went to school. Apply anyway. And if you have any feedback on how we could reach or appeal to a more diverse pool of talent, get in touch.
