So glad Jared Polis decided to unleash this extra level of bullshit on the country instead of letting her serve her lawful fucking sentence.

Add "Stone Cold Stunner" to the list of things he doesn't understand. It doesn't plow the victim's head into the concrete. It uses the force of the user's butt hitting the mat (or ground) to drive their shoulder into the victim's carotid artery, disrupting blood flow and causing a brief black out.

Eventually, I have finally received the "I am handing this over to a human teammate to proceed with the correct warranty resolution."

Now the "Agent" is forcing me to go through email based AI generated tech support steps. This must be a new scheme to cut down on warranty claims by making customers want to die before the paperwork is complete.

I send a reply saying, essentially, October 2026 is within two years of August 2025. Another immediate reply saying "You're right. Sorry for the incorrect information..." What a great dystopia we're living in.

I bought a pair of computer speakers last year (August 2025). They have stopped working. No big deal, item has a two year warranty. I submit a claim through the "contact us" page. Immediately get an email from the "AI Agent" saying my August 2025 purchase is outside the two year warranty period.

Miami sucks this year and we'll be lucky to win 4 games, but ffs, the refs can stop putting a thumb on the scale. That was absolute garbage all around.

I never believed in the conspiracies, but now that the league is partnering with actual gambling platforms, I'd like to see a breakdown of how often calls are going in favor of the betting lines.

This is seriously the worst fucking officiating in the Minnesota Miami game. Time and time again the Dolphins get hosed by terrible calls, but this is ridiculous. What the fuck are doing?

You have it completely wrong. The defendant didn't create or introduce the video. The family of the deceased did. The judge cited the video as justification for a harsher sentence.

If a lawyer is talking publicly about a pending case, they have an agenda and it's almost never anything beyond "putting this in public will help me win this case." You should always keep that in the forefront of your mind when you read dueling legal statements or selectively leaked evidence.

As I've said before, you should never accept facts from one side of a civil suit just as you should never accept a police report facts as confirmed truth. These aren't neutral documents. They are written to be persuasive and capture the audience.

Now, obviously, this isn't me saying you can't form an opinion about the news without personally conducting a full investigation, but I would caution everybody to consider the sources where the facts are coming from and examine the reason that side is releasing their story at that time.

Only those in the courtroom would come to know all the facts that led to acquittal and my client would be reduced to another talking point in a wider culture war. I just want people to keep this kind of thing in mind. These cases are rarely as cut and dry as the motivated recitation of facts claim.

There would be no follow up on the 9 months of investigation that slowly unraveled every aspect of the putative victim's story. Every inconsistency and exaggeration would be hidden from the public and nobody outside my office would learn of the piles of evidence that contradicted the state's story.

Maine's Black Lawyer @lutherevers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Add in my client is Black and the complaining witness is white and there would be little skepticism of the state narrative. A few posts could easily get his story trending on Bluesky and we'd get all kinds of takes about domestic violence and violent professions about the appropriate punishment.

My trial involved several Class A felonies. If convicted, my client was facing 30 years+ in prison Had his case made the news when he was arrested, the headline would have read "Man arrested after stabbing girlfriend, accused of drug trafficking." The public would consider this open and shut.

My latest trial has driven home that we, as a people, really need to pump the brakes on outrage when we only have one side's story. When we read allegations that touch a nerve, we tend to go all in and go big with our reactions. But there may be things we don't know during this initial reporting.

6:30pm on a Wednesday. I'm at the county jail waiting for the best part of my job. After a 3 day trial on multiple Class A felonies, my client was found not guilty on all counts and he's getting released soon. I get to greet him as a free man and make sure he's got a place to go tonight.

In this age, plaintiffs going after well-known, moneyed institutions want to manipulate public outrage as a tactic to convince defendants to settle quickly rather than litigating. Be especially wary when the story seems perfectly crafted to tap into preexisting cultural battles.

At the risk of being yelled at..... Stop taking factual allegations in lawsuits as confirmed truth. I promise you, the actual facts will always turn out differently. Plaintiffs always lead with the most sensational and outrageous version of the story (that's not necessarily a bad thing).

I really liked the idea of mechanics being a barrier to just running and gunning your way through everything, but they didn't really pull off the stealth well enough and populated too many enemies sometimes and you just had to go in hot.

I have been telling friends it's a solid 7/10 game. I mean that as a compliment. It had some poor design choices and the open world narrative clashed with the forced stealth pretty badly, but it was a fun experience with a strong identity.

Screenshot from the concurrence in the linked opinion:

STANFILL, C.J., concurring.

I agree with the Opinion of the Court. I write separately, however, to express my increasing alarm at the frequency with which the State of Maine s violating its simplest discovery obligations. See, e.g., State v. Johnson 2026 ME 87. --- A.3d --: State v. Pelletier, 2023 ME 74, 306 A.3d 614; State v Page, 2023 ME 73, 306 A.3d 142; State v. Reed-Hansen, 2019 ME 58, 207 A.3d 191.

I am particularly concerned that on appeal the State---until pressed by this Court at oral argument and contrary to long-standing rules and precedent- asserted that it did not violate its discovery obligations because the material was in possession of law enforcement and not the District Attorney's office. See, e.g., State v. Robbins, 1997 ME 21, T 7, 689 A.2d 603; Strickler v. Greene, 527 U.S. 263, 280-82, 282 n.21 (1999); State v. Eldridge, 412 A.2d 62, 67 (Me. 1980).

I understand that many District Attorney's offices are understaffed. I also know that the vast majority of Maine's prosecutors are acting in good faith. Nonetheless, "when, as here and all too often, new information is obtained on the eve of trial," defendants are increasingly at risk of being unfairly surprised and prejudiced. State v. Dennis, 2024 ME 54, T 35, 320 A.3d 396 Stanfill, C.J., concurring) (footnote omitted). The State must do better

While this is pretty common everywhere, it's a huge issue in Maine, where prosecutors barely even pretend to care about their discovery obligations. The chief justice of our supreme court recently filed a concurrence attacking them for it. Though you notice the court still affirmed the conviction.

1. That they listed such short quotes with zero context means they know this case should be destined for a quick dismissal. 2. Put plainly: The bar for a true threat is high and a general "kill all X" is unlikely to get there. 3. This administration is very stupid (See Seashells, Comey).
