Hey, as a librarian I have to tell you You don't have to finish a book that doesn't interest you. Life's too short for that. Not your jam? You have my permission to move on to the next book.

Addressing #VAWG is crucial for effective #ClimateAction Last week Grantee Partner CEDOVIP attended the International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change. Read how this vital project is integrating #VAWGprevention into wetland restoration projects in Uganda: bit.ly/45paTDI

Great time at the WW II annual programme meeting in Ethiopia! What a week of reconnecting, reflecting and strategising on our work of preventing violence against women and girls. This was my first work trip as a mum & I'm so grateful to have support to be able to work as I mother my boy.💜

Patriarchy uses attention as a reward for those it anoints as worthy: The white. The thin. The cisgender. The feminine. The able-bodied. What if we commanded, seized, and created attention instead of waited to be “paid” attention? FEMINIST GIANT Daily Dose: 90 www.feministgiant.com/p/daily-dose...
Text: Patriarchy uses attention as a reward for those it anoints as worthy: The white. The thin. The cisgender. The feminine. The able-bodied. When we say “pay attention,” we should be cognizant of the aspect of reward at play. Patriarchy pays attention to those who fall within its conventional notions of beauty. The converse is also true. By withholding attention, by not “paying” it, patriarchy punishes. What would the world look like if we did not wait to be anointed worthy of attention according to patriarchy’s standards? What if we commanded, seized, and created attention instead of waited to be “paid” attention?

Every morning at 8am my time, I send out a Daily Dose of feminist fire. Here’s today’s
On a blue background and in white letters, text reading: Words like feminism and resistance are being drained of their meaning when we offer them up as band-aids that offer temporary relief to women and girls against the vagaries of patriarchy. Enough of giving women and girls just ways to survive rather than tools to fight. We need fewer roadmaps towards a peace treaty with patriarchy and more manifestos to destroying it.

This article is essential: many of us have been highlighting how NGOs have been censoring staff and perpetuating double standards on Palestine for years. Including those that purport to have signed up to ‘feminist’ leadership approaches www.thenewhumanitarian.org/news/2024/11...

I once read that 'integrity' is "choosing courage over comfort". I like this definition. It does a good job of highlighting why many people lack integrity. It takes a certain type of person to do what's right / be honest, even when they could gain comfort from doing the opposite.
