Beni, on the other hand? Changed species like two or three times, backstory at least once. I think he was originally a human who was being transformed with each new summon he gained. Also Shamal used to be called Venn'yar.

Was digging up an old scribble for something and found my first drawings of some of the "Book of Changes" characters from back in college. Justin's design has barely changed in almost 20 years.
