So the vibe shift wasn't imaginary, it was just obviously not permanent. And yes, there was still some Trump backlash (Snoop Dogg and Target found out the hard way) but the real shift back was Minneapolis. All the celebs were quiet at the Golden Globes before and much louder at the Grammys after.

i am pretty tired of seeing people overlook the fact that we have very few lesbian bars in the united states and the idea one of them would close for literally any reason is absolutely a bummer. not a lesbian but lesbian bars were one of the few safe spaces i had in early transition.

i’m not an expert on any of this stuff. what i do know is that a story purportedly about a failure to lead with kindness is bringing out of cruel finger-pointing and reaching for other “examples”. maybe the point here is in general we need a kinder world (which is what both sides claim to want btw)
