@pluralistic.net.web.brid.gy book about the way "big tech" is robbing us of choices couldn't be better commentary to raising memory prices (and SSDs.. and everything). I highly recommend reading it ASAP if you haven't done so yet. "Run, you fools!": craphound.com/category/internetcon

As @mozilla.org decided to marry to AI ensittification, anyone can recommend just *a* browser that's not driving ads and surveillance, cryptobros, nazis or red nazis? I'm switching today to ungoogled chromium, but maybe there's something better.

Druga książka Pani Edyty - "Wojsko z tektury". Polecam.

I don't do webmail. But when I do, I always use "realgymessentials.com" to reset my password. And I share "internal communication" with the world.

How to know given service is absolute piece of sh*? Well, that's red flag the size of observable universe:

Kids, do proper 3-2-1 backups. SSD dies immediately and then it's just gone. Pictured here is 4TB of VMs from under FreeBSD bhyve NAS server. It was there happily kicking ass at 20:09:09. It was gone by 20:09:11. #zfs #freebsd #backups #redundancy

Over next couple of days I plan to help good folks deal with spam and increase cost for spammers with small addition to my projects. Stay tuned. In the meantime take a look at lukasz.bromirski.net/projects and cherish this small test run of "pain" report:

Obviously, it would be in humanity interest to look for cheapest, cleanest and most stable ways to source power, right? Riiiight? Lazard's report 2025: www.lazard.com/media/uounhon4/lazar…

Disabling telemetry on ByteDance's VSCode fork (Trae) makes it... send even more of it :) And raising it on github results in censorship :) This is no longer enshittification, it's outright evil. github.com/segmentationf4u1t/trae_t… #trae #bytedance #evil #censorship

HTTP/2 vs HTTP/3 with and without proxy. TL;DR: HTTP/3 wins hands down - older paper but worth reading: arxiv.org/pdf/2409.16267 #http3

As a newcomer I had a nice challenge on last Oh My Hack - connecting routing with security, present in first slot of the day and next to formidable speakers like Karol Molenda, Irek Tarnowski, @corpen.bsky.social, Krzysztof Zieliński. Congrats to all other speakers for keeping the bar high!
