Actin directly interacts with vimentin intermediate filaments, enhancing both actin polymerization and nucleation! Fantastic experiments done by @lilianpaty.bsky.social with @romet-jegou-lab.bsky.social, now backed by our theory. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

The presence of vimentin enhances fluorescence in pyrenil-actin assays at all times, implying an increased number of nucleated actin filaments.
