Today marks my third anniversary at Naughty Dog. 🤯 I am immensely happy to have the privilege of working with such a team, day in and day out, and I look forward to the journey ahead; I truly cherish this—especially given the turbulent waters of this industry over the past few years. ❤️🐾

The notebooks I filled with—you guessed it—notes, sketches, ideas and tasks over the years at Naughty Dog. They have stickers on the spine, dating the time in which I used them:

1st one: May '23 - April '24
2nd one: April '24 - May '25
3rd one: May '25 - Nov '25
4th one: Nov '25 - (now, no sticker yet)

Coexistence. 🧍‍♂️🤝🧚‍♂️

A slaughterhouse; workers are tearing the wings off living elves/fairies; in the background, dead elves bleed from slaughter hooks, hung in rows. A female worker tries to smuggle a few living elves/fairies out unnoticed in the foreground of the picture, hidden in her work clothes.

Inkwash on sketchbook paper, black ink and water, done as a small series as part of my inktober illustrations for 2019.

An advert for dresses made out of elven/fairy wings. We see two men on their knees, gazing longingly at a woman in an elven dress. She seems to be in harmony with the elves/fairies flying around her. The ad reads (headline): Live your fairytale; and (Subheadlines): Elven wings, feels like a second skin.

Inkwash on sketchbook paper, black ink and water, done as a small series as part of my inktober illustrations for 2019.

A Christmas market. A cheerfully smiling stallholder in the background is preparing more elf/fairy skewers, while on the counter in front, stacked high like logs for a campfire, skewers are ready for the taking. In the foreground, we see a young family (mother, father, toddler) enjoying their elf/fairy skewers, laughing and fooling around with the hot meat. A sign, with some stylized, cute illustrated elfs/fairies, holding their own kind, rammed on sticks above a camp fire, and dancing around, smiling on wood plates. A sign reads: "Fairy-skewers, Pixie Dust".

Inkwash on sketchbook paper, black ink and water, done as a small series as part of my inktober illustrations for 2019.

Children/teenagers have apparently managed to trap an elf/fairy under a glass, while larger elves/fairies in the background, their faces contorted in pain, one still trying to reach the young, trapped creature in the foreground. The other fairy creatures are sprayed with spray cans and filmed with cell phones by other kids, laughing, with angry faces, grinning, showing teeth. The boy with the young / small elf/fairy under the glass leaves the scene, while the others remain. A girl turns around and sees the elf/fairy that managed to fly towards the boy.

Super tiny Joel sketch. Still like the negative space effect on the mattress.

Joel face WIP ballpointpen sketch, with the pen visible on the photo. The face is smaller then the tip of my finger, showing details like squeezing eyes, visible teeth in pain. It's portraying ta scene with Joel on an old mattress, inside a garage, after he got hurt real bad and Ellie has to take care for him.

I love to do small details with old brushes, ink and water. 🖤🖌

Ink sketch of Abby from The Last of Us Part 2. Photo showing my hand holding a brush, resting on the sketchbook paper.

Cover illustration I did for a fan art book named "Endure and Survive" by Tarak Chami. It's an ink wash, showing young Ellie from The Last of Us, wrapping her arms around Joel, looking at the. Iewer, being overgrown with fungus. Photo shows a low angle detail view, not the whole image. It was part of a two pieces series.

Young Ellie ink wash sketch on sketchbook paper based on The Last of Us, you can see my hand beside the portrait, holding a brush, with the brush tip close to the drawing.

Ink wash on sketchbook paper. You can see my hand holding a brush beside the illustration. It's a close-up of an eye, done for the comic book cover illustrations I did for "American Dreams", as part of the Collector's Edition of The Last of Us Part 1 called Firefly Edition. Sword of the Berserk (EU Dreamcast Cover Remake) Pimped one of my favorite Dreamcast games a few years ago. The original european cover never did it justice imho. Letters are handwritten with ink, everything else digital. This is an alternative version. Could be a heavy metal vinyl cover instead. 🤭

source / reference, original EU cover for Sword of the Berserk: Guts Rage. A sword blade with blood splatters at the top is visible, held protectively in front of a face almost entirely shrouded in shadow. The hair, part of the forehead, a cheek and one eye are recognizable. It is Guts, the hero of the manga series Berserk.

Alternative version of the original remake I did, with the same motives as seen in the original reference, but more photo realistic looking, in a painterly style, all black and white with the title being reduced to Berserk, written in red and tge blood at the top of the blade being red as the only two colored pieces in the artwork. Added a used look on top.

Alan Wake art I made 16 years ago.

Alan Wake holds a manuscript page of his work in one hand and burns it with a lighter in the other. The light of the flame makes darkness recede from him like ink underwater, and makes him grin diabolically.

Rose, waiting in her diner for her hero's arrival. A cardboard version of Wake stnds beside the door. It's golden hour time – Hopper-esque atmosphere.

I had the honor of illustrating some official Marvel Renditions: Spider-Man sketch cards for @upperdeckent.bsky.social in mid-2024. 20 regular cards and two double-sided cards. Cool experience! I hope I was able to make a few collectors happy. ❤️🕷

Upper deck Spider-Man Renditions sketch cards on my desk. You can recognize several famous heroes and villains, and other characters from the world of Spider-Man. Chameleon, Peter Parker, Spider-Man, Venom, Doctor Oktopus, Black Cat, Daredevil, Kingpin, Miles Morales and many more....

Sketch card showing Peter Parker, loosely based on Steve Ditko, the face is illustrated half in Spidey's mask, as the spider-sense kicks in.

Another sketch card shoeing the Shocker, as he holds his fist close below his face and the flashes bathe his face in blue light.

Another sketch card, this time a douple page card showing Miles Morales in his classic Spidey suit not wearing a mask, upper body sketch, looking at the viewer on one the right side, and with a portrait of his face with mask on on the right side beside it.

I really enjoyed working on this image! Congratulations @suckerpunchprod.bsky.social and @erikaishii.bsky.social on the release of Ghost of Yōtei! 🧡 It looks stunning, and I can't wait to play it myself!

Atsu (based on Erika Ishii from Ghost of Yōtei) and Ellie (from The Last of Us Part 2) sit on a cliff, making music. Atsu plays a shamisen and Ellie the guitar. A large wolf lies relaxed between them, eyes closed, one ear turned toward Ellie. A huge iconic mountain lies in the background, and yellow-orange ginkgo tree leaves swirl. The entirely hand-drawn, digital illustration looks like an ink work and is entirely in black and white; only the leaves and the kintsugi-repaired mask on Atsu's belt are yellow-orange.
