I know MMMW gets a lot of negativity thrown at it, which I get, but I personally think it’s a laugh riot and will stand by that opinion with total conviction. To each his own.

To the Rolling Stone writer who’s mad because people have never heard of Choosin’ Texas, where was all that energy when radio stations were refusing to play Cowboy Carter? Or when Billboard removed Old Town Road from the Hot Country Songs chart because it wasn’t “country enough?”

Perusing through my old Rolling Stone magazines and caught up to this little capsule review of The Nice Guys in a 2016 issue and man Peter Travers must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day.

I was just thinking, “That’s a bold claim without considering Shaun of the Dead, Beetlejuice, Scream, Scream 2, Psycho Beach Party, The ‘Burbs, The Cabin in the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors and What We Do in the Shadows.“ Also, I consider Sleepy Hollow (1999) to have its fair share of laughs.

It looks and sounds like it will be good, but why does a movie about the Peasant’s Revolt need to be a Robin Hood story? Do you need the Robin Hood angle if you can just make a good historical drama?

Igor Stravinsky was also still alive when it was released. Thus, he was the only composer whose music was featured in Fantasia that was able to personally watch the film being made and provide feedback to Walt and his animators.

That’s awesome Jen! I would love to write a book about under-watched films. If I had been asked, I would have picked My Favorite Year (1982), Little Man Tate (1991), The Phantom Tollbooth (1970), The Cup (1999) and A Canterbury Tale (1944). When is the book due out?

2 Broke Girls. What a waste of Garrett Morris! And Jennifer Coolidge. And Eric Andre. And the many talented people who guested on the show. And Peter, Björn and John. And the CBS television network. And my free time. And the concept of laughter. And my university’s electricity. And Philo Farnsworth.

Trying to offset some timeline negativity by asking this question.: What is a movie that you like that many don’t? For me, there’s a few answers, but I’ll say George of the Jungle (1997). It’s a goofy, fun sendup of Tarzan pictures with a strong ensemble cast. Also, that poster is terrific.
