the one thing that TSE does worse than TFE is that the HUD is uglier imo. I find the colored icons (especially the mosaic of ammo types on the bottom right) distracting it's nice that serious sam revolutions lets you choose which version you want to see in both games

serious sam TSE bouncy room on serious yeah this is why I'm never playing this game saveless. grabbing the floor pickups is absolutely necessary but I find it extremely inconsistent this room boils my blood but I wouldn't have it any other way, it's so fucking funny lol more games should do this

I do think it is rather a shame this is ZUN's takeaway. It likely means he doesn't see any of the print work characters as deserving of coming back or being mentioned outside their associated work so we are likely to never see Kasen, Kosuzu, Yorihime, or the rest.

also it was only doing research for this page that I found out medicine was actually less than 60 years old and not less than "a couple hundred years old" (Who's Who comment)

The main characters all fight Aya in their routes in "Phantasmagoria of Flower View," but Medicine was created as a character for the other cast members to fight. As a sort of "bad route," where the characters realize "wuh-oh, I shouldn't have gone this way!" Hence her ability to control poison. Also, she doesn't know what things were like 60 years ago; I wanted to introduce a youkai who'd just been born. I wrote her as a character who's been languishing in obscurity, but that makes her pretty hard to use, doesn't it? Like Hina or Parsee. There's other "languishing in obscurity" characters besides them too, but they're all so hard to use (laugh).

one of my favorite things I did on the touhou wiki is make the page quotes of marisa and alice a conversation

Looks like *everyone* has been interested in Touhou EoSD: NC, unfortunately including bots and AI scrapers. Leading up to the game's release, there's been a surge in both human and bot traffic to Touhou Wiki, which means yet further tweaking of the anti-bot measures.

tbh, there are a lot of issues regarding accessibility of information in the series that stem from that cause (of letting the fanbase do everything. though in this case I don't even think he knows thprac even exists) the console issue is also a good point, it wasn't relevant until very recently

the positive thing is that, even though ZUN is allergic to good practice modes, thprac exists (which is the absolute PLATINUM standard for any shmup practice mode bar savestates) and a fork does work for EoSD NC with some finagling

yorihime likes parties?? I have NEVER seen anyone in the community pick that up two reasons - one is that she's obligated to hold/attend social events in order to construct relations with other lunarians (which she has to summon as her ability) the other is that yorihime is a party animal

the major thing is an engine change (though the new engine was first used in double spoiler), just like how th8 -> th10 had an engine change it can be argued that the more recent games are a 4th generation, but the engine changes happened little by little instead of all at once like with 12->13
