I used to wonder why people who had time & space to write at home would pack up their stuff & move to a coffee shop. Now, trying to write in the house with two loud & anxious terriers, a clingy cat, a washing machine, & a year-round grammar school across the street, I absolutely get it. #amwriting

Having watched two parents waste away slowly in a morphine-induced nightmare between life and death (one in a facility owned by one of McConnell's biggest campaign donors), I know wherever he is, his spirit is in agony. I wish I didn't think it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I wanna be better.

Finally reading James by Percival Everett. On the one hand, I'm irritated that it took me so long. On the other, I get to read it for the first time NOW. My fellow former lit majors, if you haven't read it yet, paperback copies are cheap and readily available, and trust me, you want one.
