Putting the Heat in Buildings Bill on ice is a big mistake. Ministers should turn up the heat, not freeze progress on warmer homes/green jobs. Fair taxes can spread out costs & make the transition easier for everyone, with free upgrades for people on low incomes ⬇️ bit.ly/4imsEXY

We welcome the strong stand taken today by now former Development Minister Anneliese Dodds over the PM’s decision to raid the aid budget for defence spending.
Graphic with the following text:

‘Christian Aid welcomes the strong stand that the now former Development Minister Anneliese Dodds’ has taken today against this week’s brutal aid cuts.

Dodds has rightly recognised that these cuts will remove food and healthcare from desperate people, will likely lead to a total pull out from many of the world’s poorest countries and will deeply harm the UK’s reputation and influence globally.

We thank Anneliese Dodds for her hard work and commitment in this brief and for the stance she has taken today and we look forward to working with her on the backbenches.’

"The Refugee Council said that the move will potentially bar 71,000 people who have successfully applied for asylum from claiming UK citizenship." Absolutely appalling. This is a breach of the refugee convention and must be opposed. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Today's ruling that the approval of #Rosebank and #Jackdaw was unlawful is a significant moment. Climate change is making poverty permanent and it has a disproportionate impact on the world's poorest communities. I'm proud to have been part of protesting on behalf of @christianaiduk.bsky.social

Standing in solidarity, is more than gesture—it’s a commitment to stand together even when it doesn't directly affect us. An acknowledgment of shared humanity & when one is hurting we all feel it. It's refusing to ignore injustice because silence is complicity.
Graphic with a definition for solidarity. Unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group.

With a week to go until the Scottish Budget, we and the 50+ others backing the #TaxJusticeScotland campaign have a simple message for Scotland's party leaders ⬇️ It's time to make every penny count.
To tackle child poverty, combat climate change and improve public services, we need to share Scotland's wealth more evenly.

We need a tax system that works for all of us and supports a thriving economy.
