It's always the people who think their job isn't the one affected by this saying it doesn't matter. I'm a concept artist and illustrator ans this is one of my most important battles and one of my biggest fires

I saw someone call Ai a Thneed and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a PERFECT analogy. The Thneed was an all-purpose tool that didn't do anything really useful. It was a fad that did major damage to the environment to make the Onceler a billionare. It left no real lasting impact, only damage.

This collection features puppet figures that look as if they’ve stepped out of a yōkai picture scroll. Over 120 famous yōkai from the Edo period are faithfully recreated, bringing traditional flat illustrations to life in puppet model for a unique viewing experience.

This book is riveting and so, so infuriating. It follows 5 families in Atlanta who are struggling to remain housed and paints deeply compassionate portraits of each unit. It reads almost like a novel but is outstanding journalism

I think people need to realize Disney, their mass production of live actions, the fact Disney only does original work with Pixar to make original animations, bought out much of marvel and Star Wars licensing, etc had quickly dove the film industry into an oligopoly.

The AI debate in Norway is blasted wide open by Flu Hartberg, comically summarising the most glaring issues with generative AI. But his critique goes deeper in his blog, putting the onus on cultural stewards and newspapers to not accelerate the culture replacement by AI. Solidarity, Hartberg! ✊🏻

A comic about my beliefs.

Meg says “in case my beliefs weren’t clear” suddenly she’s surrounded by ‘beliefs’, wearing sunglasses. The text reads:
-black lives matter
-stop Asian hate
-trans rights are human rights
-women can wear hijabs if they want
-birth control and abortions should be available everywhere
-fat people deserve love & respect
-we are in stolen land
-refugees deserve support and safety
-stand with Ukraine
-disability right date human rights
-support the people of Sudan, Congo & Palestine”

Excuses. An older comic.

A four-panel comic. In panel 1, there's an excerpt from an email that says "Re: New Tasks. Thanks for your email. Please be advised that I may take longer to answer emails because I'm swamped." And there's a person sitting happily on a rock, deep in a red maple swamp, with a frog and ferns and such. Another email excerpt says "I'm just really bogged down." The person is sitting on a bog boardwalk, surrounded by bog and fen fauna like an arethusa orchid, a pitcher plant, larch and spruce, and a canada jay. The email says "I'm not out of the woods yet." The person is happily wandering through the forest, looking at lichens and mushrooms. The email says "Sorry, it's crunch time." The person is kneeling in a forest, watching a red squirrel crunch away at a pine cone.
