Comics journey still going. Since Tapas is shutting down, I have to figure out what other platform I'd be posting on. I'm skeptical about Webtoon. ComicFury maybe? I'm not too sure. I do know I'll be posting the entire thing for free on tumblr too #indiecomics #webcomic

I'll be fine, I think. I hope everyone working internally at tapas will be okay, I can't imagine this is easy and I hope that the readers that are reasonably confused and outraged after spending so much ink can also extend a bit of thought about the workers and creators that are affected.

I'm not going to say much about this but it is definitely baffling to find out from manhwa fans online raising an uproar that tapas is getting shut down of all places and not like. my editors. I don't know what to do but laugh

Extremely funny that the time I start trying to make a comic to upload into a specific platform, the platform which has been around for like a decade gets taken down. real cool.

You're not my lover. You're not the lover I know. #jaynakamura #jonkent #superman #dccomics

Redraw of Jay as Geto from jujutsu kaisen in season two during the satosugu KFC break up. Jay as Geto, looking at Jon with an unimpressed look. The subtitles say "Are you Superman because you're Jon kent? Or are you Jon kent because you're Superman?"

Redraw of Jon in the KFC break up scene between Gojo and Geto. Jon as Gojo, with his face zoomed in looking confused, angered, sad. His eyes are wide, he has teeth gritted.

4 pages of the webcomic done.....this *might* be getting bigger than I thought. But no I have to limit myself. The opening is kind of important as an emotional anchor.

JAYNIA JAYNIA JAYNIA JAYNIA OH MY GOD

Screenshot showing an excerpt of lyrics to Paris Paloma's Silhoutte on the Hill. It shows "Don't want a part
Of your redemption arc
I can't hurry the stars no matter how you extend hands
Would you cease
Your trite forgiveness pleas?
I'm not a deity, don't have the power to send back
What's done by your hand
My blood mixed with the sand
And I limped out the desert, tell me, did you intend that?"

The more boring parts of draconic biology. #originalcomic #OC #ocart #webcomic

One page digital comic with 5 panels. The first two panels depict Dawn, a dragon who's in his human form. He has pale skin, red eyes and black hair in a choppy bowl cut. He wears a black top with a red coat that is over only his left shoulder. He has curved red horns coming out the top of his head. He looks disinterested and bored.

In the next panel he sports the same expression, but his horns have broken off. His forehead is covered in blood, dripping down his cheek.

The third panel shows Ken, hes freaking out. He has blue hair down to his shoulder, freckles and hes wearing a black jacket with an orange hood.

The fourth panel shows Ken still panicked. He says "oh no, oh no, oh no, okay, okay don't panic". Dawn looks unfazed still, he has a white kerchief and ges wiping the blood away. He says "relax. It's just an annual shedding." Ken replies, still shocked "you sure?". Dawn replies, "No ken. Tell me about my own body."

some apprentice and not her mentor swap outfits! #witchhatatelier #ichithewitch

Enclosed in a snow-globe shape, Jujy stands awkwardly before a sparkly (and hat-less) Desscaras. Both Ichi and Hiehart seem to find this meeting rather delightful.
Above, Desscaras and Jujy look out of two frames, having swapped outfits and hairstyles.

I do wish I spent any amount of time learning fashion design though, because it's my weakness. I'm not very good at designing characters in an eye-catching way. I rely on existing characters and borrow what I like.

All those art tutorials were right......you need your basics. I'm glad I learned like, ratios, hues, etc. I would not say I mastered anything, but having those skills in mind help make art and composition smoother.

That frog would've taken me about.....2 hours before. I finished this in 40 minutes when I decided to a) figure out shape b) find shading technique c) Used a big pen(DON'T USE SMALL ONES YOUR HAND WILL HURT)

Riki @luck-e.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

But I just, don't think my art looks good when the colors blend or become gradient. Painting is my weakest skill. I work best with bold lines and contrasts. Regardless, I think learning to figure out big color shapes through where the light hits most and which places are shadowed cut time +

110

Riki @luck-e.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

I was studying Shirahama & Cagle's styles here, and saw that she: - Picked the right shading technique-if lots of detail, short clustered shading, if smooth surface, lone confident lines, shadowed areas get the thickest line art or are obscured -Color block- I used to worry about blending colors +

the mid tone of any drawing. Every object tends to have varying levels of light, dark, and mid tone areas. I don't draw or render much in the light and dark areas, the only things i do are the mid tone. It save time, makes art look detailed & creates good lighting contrasts.

Comic making journey tip 3: #smallartists #webcomic Learned that the best way to draw good-looking art at speed is learning which details you need to draw in and which you don't. Most of art is using art techniques to trick the eye. I figured the only things you need to give detail to is +
