Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents. I did it because the government isn’t. This is what I found.

White words on a black background read:

50+
Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

Just found out that those iconic stripes that were everywhere in the '70s are from something called the Supergraphic System and oh no I have a new obsession.

Front cover of the "Supergraphic System" manual, featuring a 1970s living room with a dark brown couch and coordinated swoopy wall stripes of dark brown and white on a beige background.

A 1970s bathroom decorated in stripes of mauve, orange and harvest gold on a white background.

A selection of Supergraphic System patterns giving examples of different colour palettes.

Top tip if you lose heat and temps drop below freezing: keep faucets dripping. If you can't have them all drip, pick the one farthest from where the water pipe enters the building (and highest up)

I've said this before on live-streams but I'll say it again here in a more accessible form: You only live once, life is too short to care about societal standards. Provided you aren't hurting anyone else, live the kind of life you want and don't let other people tell you how you are supposed to be.

Don't use MAGA hashtags if you don't wanna get blocked. Some of the block lists cast a wide net to keep everyone's sanity intact. You can appeal to these lists if you got caught up but otherwise, just don't.
