This year I made a new illustration of Renée and Kara for the National Day(s) in Chile. Now with more background! #sheisrenee #webcomic #illustration

Illustration of Kara and Renée sitting at school for Chile's National Day. They're both wearing typical dresses from the country.

Kara is wearing a typical outfit from Chiloé, which includes a black headscarf, a fishnet shawl, a white blouse, a black midi skirt, and black flats. She has a choripán in one hand.

Renée, on the other hand, is dressed in a Caporal outfit, featuring a short dress intricately designed in blue and gold with a condor motif. She also wears blue heeled shoes. She's eating a cheese empanada, while the cheese unceremoniously stretches.

Today is the first anniversary of the most personal of my personal projects: #sheisrenée! Thanks to everyone who has supported me in this journey, and keep an eye out for future comics!

An image of Kara and Renée happily decorating a cake while wearing cute dresses. The text "Happy anniversary, Renée!" is over the image.

Seriously considering doing the same for Renée. I feel like it just isn't worth it.

Yup... Today is my birthday.

Minimal sketch of Lucho, zoned out, with a birthday hat and a party horn.

Yup, another dance studio in my city added tap dance to their schedule. Yup, again for kids only. The quest continues...

So... Maybe it was a good idea to stop updating Renée on Webtoons. Yay, past me.

Lucho Volke @luchovolke.com · 11/08/2026

Renée tends to speak in walls of text when she gets excited rambling about her favorite stuff. I translated the whole damn wall of text on my own. Webtoon the company is weak.

Yeah, it sucks that, for the large number of events with "comic" in their names, comics feel like an afterthought.

Lucho Volke @luchovolke.com · 03/08/2026

Yeah... It makes sense. Maybe the real problem is the whole marketing around the series (and the internet talk incentivized by that marketing machinery) encouraging binge-watching or else FOMO.

000

Lucho Volke @luchovolke.com · 03/08/2026

And that's why I hate when streaming services drop the whole season all at once :'D

I've been watching a lot of series and movies with Kartily. I thought about talking about them, but I don't want to feel like it's a chore. So... I watch stuff. Yay!

Also that "AI" in the video must be HEAVILY railroaded, judging by the fact that it resets to "Hello" every time.

For this year's Art Fight, I finally feel like updating the reference sheets for Renée and Kara with their current main illustrations, with my current inking style, and Renée finally facing the camera.

Reference sheet for Renée and Kara, with their color palettes.

remembered this image and started giggling to myself eheheheh

a image that reads "to be loved / is to be clicked on", with varying fonts, is paired with two versions of the same image of a dog prancing around a bog, or something, with them reading "he is blue/purple because he is a hyperlink", with the main difference between them being the clear coloring of the dog, which is colored blue and purple, respectively.

It's a bit about how hyperlinks change to purple after being clicked and all.

Yup, I have many: Katka was created for the second chapter of a project, but I will try to use her elsewhere. Relmu was made for a poster contest I didn't win. Ayleen has no other purpose than channelling my love for tap dancing.

Okay, funny thing here: In my first #ArtFight, I made this art of Cyrus for @strontiumsun.bsky.social. This year, I made a new updated version with Cyrus' new form.

Portrait of Cyrus from "Heroes of Thantopolis", holding his mace confidently in a yellow background.

The same thing, but Cyrus is a wolf now, and now he's holding the Fearsplitter.

Funny story here: the only times I have read the phrase "You will own nothing and be happy" were from conspiracy theorists claiming it was all a plan from international communism. That phrase might end up being true, but brought to you by the most ruthless and savage capitalism. Whoops...

"Art Fight" card of Lucho Volke for Team Comedy. He can do friendly fire and revenges, massive attacks are a little bit too much for him. The card features five characters: Renée and Kara (from "She is Renée"), Paulette and Isaac (from "Habitación 8") and Ayleen (unaffiliated).

I got the new Yahoo Mail design (still have an account there, I'm in a will-I-won't-I status), and they got rid of all the themes with nice colors and images. I kinda don't like how most websites nowadays only offer light/dark as their customization options.

Imagen promocional de "Ella es Renée" para EsWebcomic. Renée hace lo que puede. La adolescencia no es fácil, pero ella trata de seguir silly a pesar de todo.
