This year I made a new illustration of Renée and Kara for the National Day(s) in Chile. Now with more background! #sheisrenee #webcomic #illustration

Illustration of Kara and Renée sitting at school for Chile's National Day. They're both wearing typical dresses from the country.

Kara is wearing a typical outfit from Chiloé, which includes a black headscarf, a fishnet shawl, a white blouse, a black midi skirt, and black flats. She has a choripán in one hand.

Renée, on the other hand, is dressed in a Caporal outfit, featuring a short dress intricately designed in blue and gold with a condor motif. She also wears blue heeled shoes. She's eating a cheese empanada, while the cheese unceremoniously stretches.

Okay, funny thing here: In my first #ArtFight, I made this art of Cyrus for @strontiumsun.bsky.social. This year, I made a new updated version with Cyrus' new form.

Portrait of Cyrus from "Heroes of Thantopolis", holding his mace confidently in a yellow background.

The same thing, but Cyrus is a wolf now, and now he's holding the Fearsplitter.

I FINALLY MADE THE THING! So... If you want to attack me for this year's #ArtFight... please. Bring it on. p l e a s e . . . artfight.net/~LuchoVolke

"Art Fight" card of Lucho Volke for Team Comedy. He can do friendly fire and revenges, massive attacks are a little bit too much for him. The card features five characters: Renée and Kara (from "She is Renée"), Paulette and Isaac (from "Habitación 8") and Ayleen (unaffiliated).

Today is the first anniversary of the most personal of my personal projects: #sheisrenée! Thanks to everyone who has supported me in this journey, and keep an eye out for future comics!

The quest for a new sketchbook continues... and a friend told me about these folders that work essentially as rechargeable sketchbooks. They look nice...

I'm debating myself over my next sketchbook, once my current one is full... Should I buy a hardbound or spiral-bound one?

Lucho Volke @luchovolke.com · 25/02/2026

Let's make a quick survey for future Renée comics, because I need to gather some stories. First one: At what age did you start wearing high heels? What was that experience like?

Quick sketch of Renée awkwardly pointing a small mobile microphone to an unseen person.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention here: some days ago we bought some root beer from a store that sells stuff from the USA (they were pretty cheap, even though that store is quite pricey), and later I had the idea to make some floats with vanilla ice cream.

Two glasses filled with root beer with vanilla ice cream on top and a straw. Next to them there's a can of A&W root beer.

This is what Renée and Kara wear every day at school, if you actually want to steal their look. Or maybe you can use them as reference sheets. #SheIsRenée

Renée's STEAL HER LOOK.
ZIP UP HOODIE: Her favorite one. She finds it quite comfy.
SCHOOL SHIRT: She does wear it, but it's under her hoodie. It can barely be seen, but it is there.
PANTS: She's not a fan of skirts.
MARY JANE SHOES: Easy to put on before school, and just as easy to take off at home.

Photos are only referential to the models. Adapt to the official colors of Silver Antelope College accordingly.

Kara's STEAL HER LOOK.
GLASSES: Unintended side effect: They conceal Kara's eye color.
SCHOOL SHIRT: Unlike Renée's, hers is always visible.
SKIRT: She likes skirts, but will defend Renée's right not to wear one.
PANTYHOSE: The closest she could find to her own skin tone.
LEGWARMERS: With the school's official color. They're on thin ice.
LOAFERS: Quite aesthetic and dress-code compliant.

Photos are only referential to the models. Adapt to the official colors of Silver Antelope College accordingly.

Today (November 18), I almost missed Renée's birthday. And now she's having her cake. She may be the only character of mine that has a canon birthday date, and there's a good reason: that's when I created the Procreate file where I sketched her for the first time some years ago.

Art of Renée smiling awkwardly while having a chocolate cake with a little candle on it.

Hello everyone at #PortfolioDay! I'm Lucho, a Chilean illustrator, comic artist, and designer, and other things. I'm currently making a webcomic called #SheIsRenée. My work is in all those links below. 🌐 Portfolio: luchovolke.com 💬 Webcomic: renee.cfw.me 🔗 Other links: linktr.ee/luchovolke

Illustration of Renée (a schoolgirl with short black hair, in her school uniform) lying on her bed while drawing on her tablet. At the side is her cat, Nyoko (a fluffy tortoiseshell cat), trying to climb onto the bed.

A woman with a dark purple coat and light blue hair that looks like water is hanging in a streetlight with an umbrella.

Poster design for Universidad San Sebastián.

The girls had a great time during National Day at school. An illustration featured in the latest #SheIsRenée update as a bonus for Fiestas Patrias in Chile.

Illustration of a photo in a white cardboard frame, showing Kara and Renée posing outside their school while dressed in traditional Chilean outfits.

Kara is wearing a typical outfit from Chiloé, which includes a black headscarf, a fishnet shawl, a white blouse, a black midi skirt, and black flats.

Renée, on the other hand, is dressed in a Caporal outfit, featuring a short dress intricately designed in blue and gold with a condor motif. She also wears a blue hat and blue heeled shoes. Her hair is braided, and she has applied eyeliner and makeup.

Made this illustration to celebrate the overwhelming response the latest #SheIsRenée comic received on Instagram, becoming my most liked and commented post in history. Just look at these girls!

In a dark setting, Kara and Renée, two schoolgirls, stand with pageant ribbons and tiaras. Kara is proudly clapping for Renée, who is receiving a larger tiara. Renée is emotional, crying, and covering her mouth.

This frame from #SheIsRenée latest update captures a strong feeling: "HOW?". Context: renee.cfw.me/comics/14

In a comic panel, Renée looks shocked in the background, fully dressed in many layers of clothes, while Kara (only visible from the waist down) stands in the foreground. Kara's outfit includes a skirt, sheer pantyhose, and leg warmers, leaving most of her legs uncovered despite the cold weather.

Happy #WebcomicDay everyone! Some weeks ago I returned to comics with the premiere of #SheIsRenée, which follows a teenage artist trying to survive school, adolescence and life in general. Available on renee.cfw.me and other comic webpages.

Promotional cover for the webcomic "She is Renée". It shows Renée smiling while looking back at the camera. She's wearing a teal school uniform with pants.

PANEL 1: In a sepia-toned scene at a café, Amparo (Renée's mother) talks to another woman. The last thing we read is Amparo saying "...and then she just left the room" while laughing. A small Renée looks intrigued and asks "Mom, what are you talking about?".

PANEL 2: Amparo turns back at Renée and says: "Nothing, Renatita... You will understand when you grow up. Go play outside, right?".

PANEL 3: 10 years later, a teenager Renée runs to her mom asking: "Mom! I was just remembering when I was a kid and you were talking with a friend and then you told me that I would understand when I grew up. Can you explain it now?" Her mom, still processing everything, just asks "What? When was it?".

PANEL 4: Renee's mom just says "Oh, right. It was at the cafe... or was it at the mall? Gee, I forgot about it. Go play outside, right?". Renée is about to lose it.
