Rehoming our final (hopefully) duck. Being on this whole duck father journey, I realized a few things: Thing 1: I am god damn INCREDIBLE at hatching eggs. Thing 2: ....Perhaps TOO good at hatching eggs. Thing 3: In the future, maybe incubate a couple eggs at a time, not a dozen.

If you were to tell me a decade ago, I would be married, living on the east coast, and pursuing game development as an career choice, and of that, I would also be taking care of an entire flock of ducks, I'd probably not have gotten past the east coast part. ....I MISS THE WEST COAST. I MISS FOOD.

Let's just say 20 y/o me is a character I am going to revisit in a future game project one day. There would be no love lost between us. We couldn't be any more drastically different of two people. 20 yr old me wasn't a bad person, but he was a very hurt one. He'd hate me, but I'd forgive him.

Hey gamedevs: If your character uses a sword, consider when planning out their idle animation, you have them rest their hand on the pommel of their sword. It's like....the best pose ever, and not enough people do it. That's a freebie. Your sales will increase by a factor of 100x! ...Maybe.

As much fun as it is to interact with everyone on here, I can't overstate how nice it's been taking a break from social media to work on stuff and just myself, really, and black out all news and the like. It's a bit of a laugh when I see a reviewer's main criticism about the new Wolverine game is that he isn't as fun to use in combat like Spiderman, and how "linear" it feels in comparison. Not trying to be a dick or anything...but no shit? You are comparing a grounded fighter to an acrobatic one...

I am playing through Sinking City 2. Ok, that's a lie. I am stopping at random spots in the game, pestering my wife to look at the water effects, and then she looks up and says "oh, that's cool" then back to her work. Only to walk two steps and repeat. and that's basically the playthrough.

The best course of action is tipping over a wood pallet and garbage can in front of it and treating it as an unpassable region and calling it a day. Ain't about to even attempt to make collisions for this sort of thing. You get the garbage can on the ground, or the invisible wall.

I don't think I have ever bounced off a game as hard as I did when I tried playing Mina the Hollower. Two towers in, and it's clearly not for me. I can appreciate the game from a game design perspective, but unfortunately I don't find it all that fun or enjoyable to run through.

While working on stuff around the house, I was hearing this loud quack that belongs to our tiniest (and sassiest) duck, Carmen. It was rhythmic, and different than usual. On a whim, I decided to limp over to the window to check...and saw this: She is LITERALLY quacking orders to the entire flock.

Animation update for my pixel button. I am going to be taking a break for the night, but I managed to figure out how the layers and frames work, and I made about 15 frames out of it. I am not done with it (I aim to have quite a bit more frames so it's REALLY smooth), but we're getting there.

As tedious as animating frame by frame is, listening to the Tool 10000 days album is doing a LOT of heavy lifting for me. Once I get to about 30 frames, I will share what I have so far. Keep an eye out, hoping to have those done in an hour or two.

For fighting game fans on here, Marvel Tokon's Open Beta just went up for pre load. It will be running for I want to say 2-3 days. Something like that, so if you missed out the first time during the closed beta, now's your chance. I don't think it becomes playable until two more hours however.

I pretended to be some old guy's son who flew in from Europe to hype him up to this lady he was trying to impress at a flower shop. Apparently, his sons flight got cancelled, but he didn't want to appear that he made him up, so he asked me if I could do it cause I "looked like him close enough".
