Dinoflagellate chromosomes are highly condensed, ordered, and lack histones. Using 3D modelling reproducing Hi-C data, we show that dinoflagellate chromosomes are not cholesteric liquid crystals. Active genes occur throughout the condensed chromosome. doi.org/10.1101/2025...
