Twinkle Girl has been revealed, filling in one of these seven silhouettes! And the new Jet Stinger weapon must surely come from the one with the pointy head/helmet that's facing to the left. Is that Jet Man? What other revised predictions do you now have after Capcom's Gamescom reveals? #MegaManDO

The silhouettes of seven of the Robot Masters from Mega Man: Dual Overrride. (The eighth will be the winner of the Robot Master Design Contest.)

The legend himself Walter Day just stopped by my booth, chatted joyfully for 10 minutes, gave me his card and promised to make a trading card of me too. @liretro.bsky.social is going great already!

I have returned to @liretro.bsky.social! It's my second time as a guest at this expo, but my first time running a table. Meet me here this weekend and we'll talk about games and books and magazines!

Zelda Fitzgerald should be in there somewhere as the inspiration for the princess' name. (And thus the series as a whole!)

Wingman down! Too much Star Fox excitement for one day.

Chance Thomas, three years old, made it about three minutes into watching the Star Fox main campaign before falling asleep.

Physical PlayStation games? Back in the PS1 days you just needed one weird friend who'd occasionally give you burnt copies of random games.

A copy of Digimon World 2 on PS1 . . . on less-than-official media.

Sometimes my 3-year-old finds my phone sitting around, picks it up and snaps dozens of selfies. My Camera Roll ends up looking like this. Happy Father's Day!

Do an Addison challenge! Create a makeshift version of his unsteady President Hudson sign and task the kids to use other things from around the house to prop it up.

You can also buy these Tears of the Kingdom Koroks with backpacks. Buy two of them, set them far apart from each other in a backyard or something and do a "Can you help me reach my friend?" challenge.

Korok hunt is great! We have this plush at home and I'll hide him in different places around the house for the kids to find.

Use big, light building blocks to wall off a door in your home, and don't let the kids break through it until they earn a "bomb" by completing a different challenge. Then make a big dramatic display of "blowing up" the barrier and letting them through.

Original Golf has always been nebulous with its Mario-ness, yeah. Maybe that is he/isn't he question spurred them on to leave no doubt in the followup:

Box art of 1987's Golf: Japan Course for the Famicom Disk System. You want Mario? Here's eight images of him on one box.

The in-game graphics have been updated to leave no doubt that Mario is indeed hitting the links this time around.

Went to the movies; saw Mortal Kombat II. Ticket-taker sees me and reacts with utter shock: "Is that a MARIO shirt!?" Genuine surprise and awe from this man. How? Why? He reacted as if Mario were some obscure media figure from decades ago. My dude, there's a Mario film in your own theater right now.

I was wearing this exact shirt from Kohl's. "Super Mario Bros. Since '85." How does wearing this elicit such a wild reaction? What was this guy on?

I believe the Bomberman GB boxart you have used here is incorrect. That's the North American Bomberman GB, which was the same game as Bomberman GB 2 in Japan. It's not the same game as Wario Blast. Wario Blast was the US version of Japan's Bomberman GB:

Over the years, fans have taken stabs at alternate NES boxes that preserve Toriyama's art, but the mismatched orientation leaves a lot of blank space. With your artistic skill, I'd love to see your take on what the best NES box could've been! Create the look that you argue would've been better! :)

Happy 40th anniversary to the NES! In 2006 — 19 years ago now! — I wrote a small book all about the system's launch on October 18, 1985. It got my foot in the door at IGN, leading to the beginning of my game journalism career! (Its digital version is on sale at NFMagazine.com if you're curious!)
