It was fantastic to reunite with the teammates in the Bay for the 2nd #scverse conference. It’s been an incredible three years together, and I’m beyond excited about what we’ll build next.

Back from #scverse25 and feeling inspired by what @scverse.bsky.social has achieved over the last years. Impressive tools, a vibrant community and we even had a reunion with our two alumni Danila and Max Frank. We also presented our latest findings from the lab 👇

MIFA rests on 4 key pillars: - Clear metadata for annotations - Incentivise the production of annotated datasets - Reduce the number of formats used for annotations - Make data accessible to all Huge thanks to all collaborators—can’t wait to see MIFA in action!

If you work with Xenium data segmentation, you may want to check out Segger! Segger provides accurate and scalable segmentation for IIS and FISH-based spatial omics datasets, using a novel heterogenous GNN approach. Authors: elihei.bsky.social and Andrew Moorman.

The latest #scverse hackathon on spatial omics has really been a blast! A small example: Day 2 was planned from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, yet we had people hacking until 9-10 pm! (pics 2-3). Looking forward to the new in-person event!

In September, I represented the SpatialData team at SCG 2024. I was honored to receive a best poster award; I want to thank my team (in particular Giovanni, Tim, Wouter, Kevin, and Sonja) who made the project possible. In the pic, Danila and @mkoutrouli.bsky.social from @scverse-team.bsky.social.
