Having observed first hand how students become so disengaged within the curriculum, then a small % of those who enjoy it compared to a larger % who don't and I believe that's why a lot of students aren't picking English at A-Level. I believe an honest, open questionnaire with GCSE students can help

That phrase “disadvantaged students”. Will always remember interviewing sixth formers about their experiences as “disadvantaged students”. They hated the term. Said it lacked hope & suggested they were doomed. Preferred anything else e.g. "pupil premium students" www.ucas.com/corporate/ne...
