LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Meh, macintoshes. But whoa lots of Cortlands. We had a March 80 degree day so most things blossomed early and then got a bit of frost damage on the baby fruit. A good year for sauce and cider. Looking at booklet. "Ludacrisp" are coming soon. Sign me up. 200
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026@bookreadingguy.bsky.social was forced to backtrack on foot and access the fenced pixieland orchard because I am pretty sure I am a fan of pixie crunches. But the apple in the photo is a NY35. So new it still hasn't got a name! I stuck to the vintage trees some of which are 50 years old. 100
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The kids are certainly old enough that we could do his favorite Oscar winning movies. But Shawn the Sheep had become an inadvertent standard due to TV with the grands. It gives me a fuzzy to think about him chuckling despite nominally reading something else. Especially since I do the same. 010
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026So my Dad's last birthday was spent in the hospital chasing the tail of his leukemia and dying. So for the first birthday without him, I made sure we did things that he would have liked. A trip to our favorite orchard that he never got to visit and a couple of episodes of Shawn the Sheep. 210
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026it is the time of the season shift when you get a bit nervous when your best hunting cat stares so intently at something you can't see. Now v serious. Paw got lifted to strike and released. Laser focus attracted 2nd cat to assist. Odds of it not being a spider extremely low. I'm outta here! 000
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026the number of my friends from middle school who got diagnosed later in life is very high. Which makes me think that those middle school educators who saw us socially struggling as tweens and assigned us to a lunch table had an eye for zebras in need of a herd. College friends similar. 020
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I still struggle with my first born but ya I was so much more ready to support the second kid. Seeing myself in them much much more and sitting with the late diagnosis and making different choices. And! telling my brother that my diagnoses are medically real and not woo woo. fyi nieflings. 000
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I'm not sure but my kid asked to have my high school letter jacket -lately used as a dog bed - dry cleaned so they could wear it to school. and then came home with commentary from their teachers. 000
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026My teen, diagnosed in her tweens, agreed to medicate when highschool started several years ago. Me, diagnosed in 40s, telling her I used to go to highschool on a package of pop tarts or maybe an apple. Them- uncomprehending and appalled - affirming they don't like /want having a day off meds. ever 000
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026oh certainly not. my non scripter has worked with me for a couple of (hard) years. and I'll still push back because is better living through chemistry really going to stop my constant background awareness of late capitalist enshittification? my scripter is pusher who never reviews chart notes. 000
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I think I might need this or something like this. Perhaps waking up from a news influenced nightmare and getting back on the phone to check the news was not a great choice. 010
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026and did your professional have concrete suggestions for you? 100
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 27/09/2026but Lora, a decade or so ago you loved to collage, why don't you come back to it? because I need my dining room table? (Rarely for eating, let's not be silly.) Also the set of sorted and trimmed animal images. totally not in these drawers and boxes. 000

LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I am a bit concerned that the writers are going to be extremely cruel about it. 010
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I enjoyed your lead comment about how can things get done. I am not happy with the fact that it is Macklemore is causing Jewish people discomfort. It is much harder to find people willing to explain the nuance in long form. 010
LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026sigh "Dismissal by the EEOC was not a determination on the merits of the issues purported to be raised in the charge." Do I try and rustle up a contingent lawyer specialist in employment law or do I just go to my next EMDR session and continue to try and move on emotionally? 010

LoraT @ltimonin.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Do I have too many cockerels this year? Totally. But this lil mini guy is so cute! I call them the Butters (2 pullets) and they are otherwise quite aloof. I like that they are maturing as slowly as their standard size breed. Freeloading cuties. 2261
