While that line is stupid, the full ad touts his going after child traffickers. So the original post is just super misleading. So goes the internet

Do yourself a favor. Read these 7 pages by @lilymasonphd.bsky.social right now. It is the most concise explanation of the current situation in U.S. politics I've seen and it captures why calls to reduce "polarization" can ultimately worsen the problem 🧵 www.journalofdemocracy.org/articles/pol...

Polarization Is Not the Problem | Journal of Democracy
Americans have never been angrier with one another. But polarization is not the disease—it is the response to a revanchist movement seeking to roll back sixty years of social progress.

SCOTUS granted cert today on what counts as substantial burden under RLUIPA’s land use provisions. If this wasn’t on your radar, Amir Downing has an excellent note forthcoming in the Virginia Law Review, taking a deep dive into the circuit conflict. A preview here: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

Religious Land Use Exceptionalism: The Meaning of "Substantial Burden" in RLUIPA
Religious organizations have fairly predictable needs that come into conflict with the interests of local government. In a land use context, a religious organiz

My feelings are uncomplicated. Until someone says abolish it now. And I think about who deserves it now. And they do deserve it. Still no. Because it would degrade us. We should not be killers

Yes, executing innocent people is the worst. And errors are a huge concern. My impulse to engage here lies in the guilty - and many of these people have done awful violence to others - we shouldn't do violence in turn because it degrades us. We shouldn't do to Pike what we did to her

The death penalty is a wrong that can't be made right. We are now seeing or hearing of its horrors. Usually we shield ourselves from them. Tonight, I pray for Christa Pike that she be spared any further violence inflicted in our name

Also as w other foods, smaller places often have better versions. Ie, the best Vietnamese is in neither Houston or new Orleans but towns in between the two. And the smaller places w the best mexican are overwhelming in TX and, fine, CA

Sam, I mean, be real. You think Chicago has more Mexicans and more Mexican Americans than Texas cities? We have Mexican food from every region of Mexico. We also have tex mex bc we have older traditions. There is no chi mex.

Liz Sepper @lsepper.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
But also carry thr 1, there is no way that Chicago is the #3 best city for Mexican (let alone #1). Better than El Paso? Houston? Dallas? San Antonio? Austin? And there are cities in lesser states too

You people are talking total delusion. Literally criminal insanity. But you're so insane that everyone just decided to tap out. Any suburb in Texas beats Chicago Mexican food
