So many great suggestions here. I love Janet and Allan Ahlberg. But for a less well known choice I love Richard van Kamp and Julie Flett's 'Little You'. Also Ken Wilson-Max's Lenny books are lovely.

Adult play: just collaborated very seriously with Centre for Life employee to build this masterpiece, ostensibly on behalf of my three year old. She’s now asking to play three little pigs so I fear for its future!
