Relevant XKCD
XKCD #456 titled Cautionary. Too long to comfortably transcribe on mobile but full transcript can be found at https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php?title=456:_Cautionary

Basically someone can easily be nerd-sniped after installing Linux, going from a basic user to a power user within a month.

Presented without context (because it’s funnier)

Spreadsheets are cool and all, but I needed the Python and PyQt practice. Not _quite_ done, but the major stuff is there.
A screenshot of a program called "Filament Cost Calculator." It has a form that requests for filament price per kilogram, grams used in the print, time to print, and a checkbox asking if the print will happen during work or sleep.

The example values state that the filament cost per kg is $17.99, the print will use 850 grams, will talk 9 hours and 58 minutes, and will be printed while at work or sleeping. The program says this example print will cost $20.27.

This is probably taking the joke too far, but this is the meme that popped into my head.
A four-paneled comic.
Panel 1:
An overconfident man is talking to someone else off frame. The man says "The mountains are bored"

Panel 2:
The man stops talking, looking shocked.

Panel 3:
The man says "... the mountains are bored...?" in a questioning tone. He looks worried.

Panel 4:
The man is in a dark room with three bottles of alcohol and a revolver. He mutters, "how the fuck do you entertain a mountain?" to himself.

The meme of the superhero in front of two buttons, unsure of which one to press.

The first button reads "assist with the government shut down from lack of funding" and the second button reads "watch as the government is dismantled by the majority party".

The superhero is labeled as "the Democrats "

Just finished the first season of Odd Taxi this morning and I'm very glad I did. I hope season 2 is just as good as the first, but we'll have to find out another time.
A stylized photo of an anthropomorphic walrus wearing a red shirt and a blue ball cap leaning against a white Taxi. Shrubs and small trees are in the background, separating the taxi from the nighttime cityscape in the background.

In the right-hand corner it says "Odd Taxi", which the image originates from.

Hmm
A very zoomed-in crop of the photo of the inflatable pickle in the original post.

The cropped portion shows lines vaguely shaped like a thumb, with two dots that could look like eyes, and a crease in the inflatable that looks vaguely like a mouth.

The intent of thr crop is something alien-ish looking blankly or disapprovingly at the viewer.

This effort is very well explained by this simple math problem, and I've taken it to heart. If I write a paragraph a day, I'll have 365 paragraphs by the end of the year. If I write a line of code, I'll have 365 lines. You get the idea.
Two math equations. The first is 1 to the power of 36, which equals 1. Text below it reads "doing nothing at all"

The second is 1.01 to the power of 365, which equals 37.7.

Text below it reads "small, consistent effort"

Who knew the UnitedHealth CEO shooter would be a cartoon haunted house?
Screenshot of a news article about the suspected shooter in the UnitedHealth CEO case. Text reads, "The man in custody was identified by New York City police as 26-year-old Luigi Mangione. At this time, Mangione is considered a "person of interest".

The name "Luigi Mangione" is circled in red, with an arrow pointing to the mansion from the Nintendo video game Luigi's Mansion.

I did a #TacticalUrbanism today
A blue temporary canopy over a patch of artificial turf in an empty parking lot. There are small wood crates on the corners of the canopy, and a lawn chair in the shade provided.

On the chair is the book "The Future is Analog" by David Sax

Trust in Shai-Hulud
A network cable trimmed back about an inch, with its 8 wires spread out, looking like tentacles. Or another interpretation would be the worms from Dune, which are named Shai-Hulud in universe.

But mainly what we want are mixed use planning, which allows for builds such as X-over-1s, which is to say, an apartment complex X stories tall over one level of commercial, which can house small coffee shops, grocery stores, or clothing stores--the staples most people want.
