lexcilust.substack.com/p/were-not-s... This is great writing and talks about something I've learned to nurture, appreciate but also respect: The container. Much like the proverbial "cup", I work to keep them full and well tended.

Question time: Ladies, what's been one of your favorite unexpected or practical gifts you've received from an admirer? Something unplanned or really useful you didn't expect?

Warning! Long post incoming: Many people are really upset and fed up surrounding the recent events at Cornell. Rightfully so. I am really failing to put into coherent words about the amount of rage and frustration I feel surrounding it and it must be but a fraction of what women are feeling now. 1/

I have seen a real uptick lately in referring to BFs, GFs, clients, and other forms of partners instead as "lovers". And I am so here for that. I appreciate all of my lovers out there. More of this acceptance in terminology, please.

Portion control: every time I journey into the mid west I somehow magically forget that every portion of every meal is about twice as large as what I'm normally used to. These folks know how to eat. 🍽️

Not me, sitting in a restaurant bar somewhere in the Midwest, insisting they put on women's basketball on the TV, instead of football. "I don't like women's basketball" says the female bartender. "Well, this girlie does!" I got my wish. Everyone watches women's sports! #GSV #WNBA #GOVALKS

The required pre-flight meal, some chicken Pho in a container that says: "Hot as PHO" yes, yes I am.

I truly love seeing some of my favorite friends both near and far sharing all the gifts and fun adventures they get to enjoy from fellow admirers. It makes me happy to see others show appreciation to them similar to how I do.

Let's play the airport code game. These are all the airports I'm going to in October. How many do you recognize? No cheating! SFO, DTW, MCI, DEN, ORD, YYZ, GRR, IAD, PDX, SEA. That is a lot! Where are my travel savvy people?

Lowendtheory @lowendtheory.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Just in case you were wondering, I'll be in KC in September, PDX in October, Vegas in November and NYC in December. You know, in case you needed to know that.

Okay, now this one really stings for me. I love this man and this film so much, not to mention the many, many other things he was involved with. His performance here and elsewhere is legendary and I'll always revere him.

My Dolly reflection: I'm old enough to remember when 9to5 first came out. I didn't understand back then why the film and also the theme song was so popular. But it was an anthem for equality in the workplace, smashing office patriarchy, and ending unpaid office labor. Dolly was fun, but also fierce.

People will religiously follow some DIY video on YouTube to fix an appliance or do home improvement, and then completely fumble the bag here despite having instructions that are just as clear. In the end, it is your humanity that can make or break an encounter. Come correct... or not at all.

Ladies & Gentlemen, it is officially Dahlia season! For 100 years now, volunteers have kept the Dalhia garden in San Francisco, Golden Gate Park looking vibrant and beautiful for all to enjoy, free of charge. Beauty like this is worth slowing down, enjoying and being grateful for.

A thing about me is I almost always have a hair tie with me, but I do not have long hair. Why, you may ask? Well, it just so happens that a lot of my friends that I hang out with will have the need for one in certain circumstances. And I like to be prepared.

I had one of the most wildly unprofessional business interactions I can ever recall. When you berate someone like they're your child in your very first interaction, it isn't going to ingratiate yourself to me, or anyone. How do people do business this way??

I am on planes A LOT. Like, nearly every week. If I encounter this on my flight, it will not end well for them. Self restraint and decency often melt away during air travel. Just saying...

I had one of the absolute worst travel experiences that I can remember in a very, very long time this week. I'm eager to get home to some very brief sense of normalcy. Longing for some softness stillness and the comforts of home, however brief they may be.

Lowendtheory @lowendtheory.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

This is not a good travel day today. The weather is so bad we were circling waiting to land and are now diverted elsewhere because we were running out of fuel! The joys of air travel.

000

Lowendtheory @lowendtheory.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

worth repeating 🎯 So true. Having the comfort and permission to respectfully explore things without judgement and often with some expertise, is truly where the value comes in. Those positive experiences and energy can ripple through all aspects of your life. Healing, fulfilling and motivating!

Had a very early morning flight today and booked an Uber in advance, as I usually do. Driver was super late, over 12 miles away at booked time. Cancelled, booked a taxi and saved 20% on the fare. Never had a prebooked issue like this before. Taxis are still viable out there! 🚕
