When we keep naming things after people, the opportunities for these are getting smaller and smaller. And where's the fun in that?

That's why I'm running several windows spread across multiple workspaces, each with its own collection of tabs It may be a mess, but its a heirarchial mess.

I have strong suspicions it is exactly that; and I have some suspicions that it doesn't always involve the LLM actually looking at the data. I think it's eroded the ability to have some trust that people with candidates had a methodology to get them.

One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach; all the damn vampires.

I feel like I shouldn't be learning, this late in the game, that the newest Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie apparently has John Astin back.

I think the 2002 Copper Fire also burned through much of that area that's west and north of Buckweed, so this is largely areas that last burned ~20 years ago. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckwee...

Decided to do an overlay of the current Bouquet Fire north of the city of Santa Clarita to the 2007 Buckweed Fire, which I believe was the last large fire near it. The Bouquet fire started just north of the northern edge of the Buckweed fire and so far is staying along/north of that edge
An overlay of two fire maps from Santa Clarita, with the 2007 Buckweed Fire showing a large fire perimeter reaching into the city of Santa Clarita as well as most of the way to Castaic Lake and a northern edge just south of Bouquet Reservoir. The smaller Bouquet Fire shows an ignition point just north of the upper perimeter of the Buckweed Fire and has stretched roughly west from that point, roughly along the northern perimeter of the Buckweed fire

Being from up there, it's currently near a major water sources, sorta far from stuff, and burning towards an area that burned last year. If the wind stays low, hopefully that one stays like a normal October fire with minimal damages to people. I'm watching just in case, but it feels usual so far

Bold move, that one. I semi-recently got tired of waiting for The Chipmunk Adventure to be on streaming and just bought an old DVD of it. And yikes.

I think one of the signs of how society makes no sense is that a company can make a square frozen pizza and then have the audacity to say that it is 5 servings.

More games need personality matrices where it'll just get a feeling of what you're like then take care of dialogue for you rather than constant dialogue choices. Makes the rest of a more relaxing experience for me to focus on the gameplay aspects and storyline. And it's on sale now, too

I don't think musical talent is required for bands these days, per se, but hear me out: a backing drum machine and a keyboard you play where each key is a weird line from a strange deep-cut movie

This is why I still use wired tech. I don't want to deal with wireless if I can help it. Especially where I then have to deal with charging.

On point B, the NASA Exoplanet Archive typically serves ~10-20TB of data per month. In July it jumped to 70TB. In August it jumped to 600TB. So either our user base organically grew *30x* in two months (... unlikely), OR the bots have taken over already.

It's not a high overall rate of letters typed, but it had explained the lion's share of my typos for quite a while. Though it's become complicated now that part of my laptop's keyboard is also starting to die and is causing its own delay for certain letters

Mike Lund @lowbacca.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Not the same error, but I feel like this also represents a different thing from default typo behavior - for years I've noticed that I often transpose letters specifically where letters typed with one hand sometimes show up before letters typed by the other hand.

People that think sports superstitions are entirely baseless should do some reading into physics and the observer effect. Sometimes they're just a misapplication of things.

This feels on par for whatever is going on with this iLands nonsense. So far I've gotten unsolicited emails from one AI agent offering 'new' theme music for my podcast and another AI agent that'll help find titles to partially-remembered games for $20 Woe to me when they find my science endeavors

I also put my entire music library on one giant playlist that was on shuffle. But I also added the "Checkpoint" sound effect from Crus'n USA on there and put a couple hundred copies of that at the end of the playlist so that as I'd be driving, every so often the speakers would just go "checkpoint"

Creative Nomad Jukebox. Space for up to 60 GB of music on there, and most important to me driving was that it was all tactile buttons, so that I could navigate menus without having to look at the screen because I could easily count the clicks. Everything shifting to touchscreens was really annoying.

I just like things that mess with the audience When they made the new Star Trek franchise, I wanted the second movie to just be the crew celebrating graduating by traveling around Europe, but not revealing any of that in the trailers. Probably good I don't get listened to, but I think it'd be fun
