I have several of these bill caps now, because I live in the desert and a bald head is just an invitation for sun burn. I used to have a really nice leather Homberg that I really loved, but someone lifted it at a restaurant in Austin, a few years ago (not long after this picture was taken).

This is Daemir (elvish for “pool of shadows”), who was found as a stray on the streets of Vegas as a kitten, posted repeatedly to my twitter timeline, then came to my house as a trial meeting. She adopted me on the spot and has been managing my schedule ever since.

My tattoo of @alwayscoffee.bsky.social’s #tinypoem from 2019 is all healed up and looking amazing. Every one of my tattoos has a personal meaning to me, and this one is the most powerful. I have words that speak into being a version of myself as seen by another. It’s a powerful totem.

Poem written for me. It was a moment where someone who doesn’t know me deeply turned their poet’s gaze and told me what they saw of me, and it had a lasting, deeply moving impact because I felt genuinely seen.

This small fox, clever
and curious, is also a thief,
trickster god, laughing
at his own perils,
he is toolish and brave, until
he becomes something else,
but in this forest

I got the tattoo I have been wanting to get for ages. The brilliant @alwayscoffee.bsky.social wrote a #tinypoem for me on Twitter in 2019. It made me feel seen and understood. Now it lives on my left forearm. Thank you Ali (poem) and Jericho Sepulveda (EmptyCoffins Tattoo in Las Vegas).

I love Uncle Deadly and I would take him on field trips to the Hollywood Wax Museum.

Uncle Deadly from The Muppets. He’a weird looking dragon-ish sort of creature with gray-blue skin, a long snout, wispy white strands of hair, and chin tentacles. He dresses in 1880s era suits and speaks in an overly dramatic fashion.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains. Harder Mode: no Tool albums. I played this album on repeat for so long my fiancé threatened to leave me, or at the very least destroy the physical media. It’s still in heavy rotation.

My cat, Daemir, also likes to try to lift my spirits when I am feeling down or ill. She defends me from every other human on the planet, but she means well.

I put out a heated cat shelter for OBC and I can’t swear to it, but I think she’s using it. This is her. She hasn’t quite made up her mind, but I am pretty sure she’s well on her way to joining the family.
