I don't read entirely linearly: I'm constantly "recirculating" through a text in big and small loops. Audio books don't allow for that *at all*, but for me it's essential for both understanding and *appreciation of good writing*. (Probably a function of my ADD-H.)

I hear fictional characters in the voices I've given them. When friends convinced me that the audio book of The Hail Mary Project was extraordinary, I tried it for many chapters, but ended up going back to reading and hearing the voices as I originally imagined them.

My circle in college watched the miniseries and read the novel. That was quite a while ago, but I can reread before the first club meeting!

My Maizy knocked a box of raisins off the counter and ate as many a she could reach with her muzzle jammed into the box. That resulted in an overnight stay at the emergency veterinary hospital. $$$!

PLEASE NOTE on the recent SCOTUS per curiam decision: existing law blocks most states from purging their voting rolls within 90 days of an election. This decision is not likely to impact the midterms, and also the use of the SAVE program (different from the SAVE act) is VOLUNTARY.

My much bigger dog pretty much owns the loveseat when we go camping (he happily shares it with a human). He also likes his own camp cot for variety.

No problem with locking gas covers—my vehicles are a 28-yo SUV for camping and blizzards, and a 14yo Subaru for daily driving. But the gas caps are on opposite sides. I have to look at the little arrow on the fuel gauge every time or I will invariably get it wrong.

Why are Republicans STILL talking about "flat screen tvs" as if they are some kind of exotic luxury? *That's the only kind of tv you can buy!* Has been for *decades.* And they're cheaper than the old CRTs used to be!

Does she have a tan line that matches the shoe exactly? Is that bc she wears these shoes when she's tanning? (Sun/tanning bed/spray-on?)
Closeup of right foot as she climbs the stairs to the aircraft. Her foot is rising slightly out of the shoe, and there is a tan line exactly where the shoe would cover the skin.

Just once in my life I would like to see a Democrat being interviewed by right wing media like Fox News or right wing media like every single other outlet treat their questions with the contempt they deserve. I know it's not going to fix everything or maybe even anything but how much coverage and how much groundswell of excitement from the base do you think it would inspire if when asked about "boys in girls sports" or some other stupid fucking culture war distraction one of them finally said "What the fuck are you talking about man? You sound like a dumb asshole right now."

What's the worst that's going to happen the New York Times is gonna work overtime to make sure you don't get elected? They were already doing that buddy.

You simply say "Are you stupid? Do you think I am stupid? And do you think all of the people watching at home are stupid? Everyone sees through what you are doing. Using one group as a scapegoat for the very real problems everyone has – all caused by Republicans by the way – unlike this fake one you have made up. Dumb asshole."

Just go on the attack for once instead of sitting there trying to please your enemy who is in the process of trying to humiliate you.

And if you want to say something else true that almost no Democrat ever says for some reason you can top it off with a “Every single Republican in our lifetime has sought to make our lives worse in every way possible. I’d like to try to stop that.”

Hmmmm. To me, Red Delicious are terribly bitter. It's the skin: they're ok if I peel them. (Unless there are veins of red in the flesh of the apple, in which case that's also somewhat bitter.)

Here’s the thing about Christ’s return. Christ said specifically that he would return as the naked, the hungry, the thirsty, the prisoner, the immigrant. Jesus has never stopped coming back. American Christians have never stopped killing him.

When I was a kid, we had a cat who absolutely loved ripe cantaloupe. Among his behavioral issues was trying to steal the slice of melon off the table while dad was pouring a cup of coffee.

My parents surprised me with a plane ticket home for Tgiving freshman year. We sat for hours talking , then mom told me, "I don't think your brother made your bed—you'll have to make it yourself." What she meant: I had to go up to the attic, bring down the parts, & *make* the bed in our shared room.
